The American Civil War, and a traumatic era in American history. 1842, and a small family of father, squaw and their young son Jacob have found their refuge close to the Mexican border. Thinking this was going to be the family home for many a year to come couldn't have been more wrong. 15 years on, and still enjoying the tranquil life, and their son now a full grown lad of 15 years, the family had no reason to doubt that their life was ever going to be interrupted. This day, while finding wood for their fire, Jacob sees 5 riders approaching. Never had Jacob had to worry about his parents, as his life up to now had only been hunting with his father, and seeing friendly Indians, who knew of the family. Hiding behind bushes, Jacob witnesses how the cowboy can be, as he sees his father shot and killed. Jacob sees the faces of all 5 as the home is burnt to the ground, and vows in his mind, that no matter how long it takes, he will have his revenge for what these men have done to his life. Jacob is half Indian and half white, a breed to the cowboy, but that will not stop him from going it alone to find these men. As time moves on for Jacob, he comes across a cantina, and all the men dead inside. Spotting a gun belt on one of the dead men, he sees two bone handled pistols. Taking them for his own, it is to be the making of him being seen as the gunslinger. By 1861, Jacob joins the Union army as a scout, and meets various women and men who pass through his life. But one woman he meets is to have a life changing effect on him and in the most bizarre way. 5 years of war is coming to an end, and Jacob has managed to come across 4 of the men he seeks. 1 remains, but will he still want his revenge after so many years of seeing death around him have a change of heart.
