As the breath of life, that is common to all, is remorselessly drawn from the Earth, the Earth, left more and more uneasy at each near fatal blow, begins to rumble and roar as its shifting gaze seeks out a way to restore the balance between itself and humankind, humankind who plunder, ever remorselessly, its riches. Hopes of a peaceful resolution are failing, have failed, and there are growing signs, for those who wish to see them, of an uprising taking place under our very feet.
In nooks and crannies hidden from the eyes of humans; peoples, fictionalised and forgotten, are awakened to time-worn portents. Portents, which some see as hope in the promise of reunion and reconciliation; others as the sign of a renewed ascendency and dominance. Each wait patiently as humankind, blinded by, and fettered to, their finite view of the empirical, blunders on towards their inevitable demise.
How far they fall, however, lies not in the hands of those who wait, or even in the insurgent earth ...
