RESPECTING THE LORD: The True Beginning of Knowledge (Hiking the Trail of Truth Book 9) by Mark Stephen Taylor Price verified 35 minutes ago

There does not seem to be a predominant amount of respect for the Lord in these current times in which we live. Let's face it -- it's a chaotic world out there, is it not? I would blame most of that on a lack of both teaching and understanding regarding the Creator of the world. However, the existence of God can be clearly seen through the things He has made, which things are quite obvious all around us Yet, it appears that many are not really looking. Why is that, I wonder? It is written that a fear (respect) of the Lord is truly the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7). Here, Solomon is clearly teaching that belief in God is the necessary prelude to the understanding of solid truth and the acquisition of any knowledge. Beginning is literally first in order of importance; the first principle. In many Biblical passages the fear (respect) of the Lord is to be taught and learned. The beginning (foundation) of all true knowledge is grounded in this respect. The purpose of this ...

Leadville or Bust by Chris Chaney (Ascentionist) 4.0 Stars (6 Reviews)    Price verified 9 hours ago

This is a book about one average guy's attempt to finish the Leadville 100 mountain bike race in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Juggling family, work, and other adult obligations while squeezing in training the author fought his way toward the finish line of a grueling one hundred mile mountain bike race that is notoriously hard to get into and frustratingly hard despite its commercial popularity.

Hard to Believeland: Cavs win the NBA Championship! Indians win the AL Championship! Browns win a game! by Phil Barth 4.2 Stars (11 Reviews)    Price verified 12 hours ago

A look inside the mind of a Cleveland sports fan. For Cleveland Sports fans, 2016 was a year like no other. • The Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA championship. • The Cleveland Indians won the AL championship. • The Cleveland Browns won a game. Painful expressions like "Red Right 88", "The Drive", "The Shot", "The Fumble". were suddenly replaced by "The Chasedown", "The Shot (Kyrie version)" and "Wow! The Browns won a game!" This book takes a humorous look at each of the teams I love. It looks at the highlights: (Cavs 2016 championship, Indians march to the World Series, the Midges), the lowlights (The Drive, The 1997 World Series, every Browns season since 1999) It celebrates the teams we love through thick and thin. If you have fond memories of World B. Free, Jim Thome and Greg Pruitt, this book is for you. If you have nightmares about Michael Jordan and John Elway, this book is for you. If you can't say "Pittsburgh Steelers" without throwing up a little in your ...

Let's Take A Journey: Inside Nature's Mystical World by Lloyd Alexander (Lloyd W. Alexander) 3.4 Stars (2 Reviews)    Price verified 18 hours ago

The journey you are invited on by the author truly brings you to places within Nature that you do not get to venture into very often. The experiences are shared in a way that you feel as though you are right there looking over Lloyd's shoulder and into the eyes of the animal; directly into the animal's or bird's very soul and being. He invites you to a point where your own heart begins to race from the adrenaline of the encounters. If that was all this book contained, then it would still be an extremely satisfying book to read, but we are not left there. The images in the book are simply stunning and take you ever deeper into the stories. You "see" the animals up close in their environment. The author takes the time to explain how you too can have experiences out in the wilderness, in a way that is safe for you and for the wildlife you encounter. e invites and challenges you to listen to what is around you in nature. The author also offers you the chance to learn how to be free of ...

Camp Abahati: A Place, A Destination, A State of Mind by Ronald Richards (Creativia) 4.1 Stars (13 Reviews)    Price verified 23 hours ago

This story is true. Not even the names have been changed. I may end up being kicked out of camp for telling "what happens at camp", but it's a risk I am willing to take. After all, I'm innocent! Our deer camp, Camp Abahati, started in 1965. Since then we are in our 51st year of hunting the same piece of ground. Not many deer camps can lay claim to that, and two of the three original hunters are still hunting there. The group has grown over these 51 years to include two more Camp Elders - including yours truly - and their offspring, which now numbers 15 children and grandchildren. There are stories that will excite you. Stories that will make you laugh. Stories that will make you shake your head and think, "did they REALLY do that?" If you are a deer hunter, I know you will enjoy reading this tale. If you aren't a deer hunter, the stories of family and friends make for some great reading. It's not about the killing; it's about the hunting, the friendship, and the camaraderie.
