Criminal trafficking in human organs for transplant has led to stifling bureaucracy to control it and most organs deteriorate due to red tape. An effort to solve the problem by storing the organs via temporary transplantation into swine leads to bizarre consequences and a life or death struggle for control of a life saving technology involving big pharma, organized crime and a courageous group of volunteers seeking justice. Global issues - the environment, military involvement, politics, a world of need
Spiritual issues - the New Age movement, the role of women, fasting, vegetarianism, signs and wonders
Lifestyle issues - career and educational planning, money & power, entertainment, addictive substances

It is the purpose of this book to show the relationship of the individual minister (church member) to the collective body of Christ (the church). Paul's second letter to the Corinthians is a transparent inspired account of biblical ministry. He was a true minister to the church, not as a paid professional, but as an individual who served in the kingdom of God. Paul's work as an individual minister ought to be like a flagship for every individual Christian. The modern church often views the pastor as the minister. However, the full counsel of God teaches that every person that belongs to the church of Jesus Christ is a minister. A minister in the church is one who serves in the church faithfully as one who assumes a servant role. This book is an exposition of the Paul's second letter to the Corinthians with a focus on the ministry of the church.

The modern era has unfolded in the shadow of the French Revolution. Almost all future revolutionary movements looked back to the Revolution as their predecessor. Its central phrases and cultural symbols, such as La Marseillaise and Liberté, fraternité, égalité, ou la mort, became the clarion call for other major upheavals in modern history, including the Russian Revolution over a century later.
The values and institutions of the Revolution dominate French politics to this day. The Revolution resulted in the suppression of the feudal system, emancipation of the individual, a greater division of landed property, abolition of the privileges of noble birth, and nominal establishment of equality among men. The French Revolution differed from other revolutions in being not only national, for it intended to benefit all humanity.

A Room of One's Own is an extended essay by Virginia Woolf. First published on 24 October 1929, the essay was based on a series of lectures she delivered at Newnham College and Girton College, two women's colleges at Cambridge University in October 1928. While this extended essay in fact employs a fictional narrator and narrative to explore women both as writers of and characters in fiction, the manuscript for the delivery of the series of lectures, titled "Women and Fiction", and hence the essay, are considered non-fiction. The essay is generally seen as a feminist text, and is noted in its argument for both a literal and figural space for women writers within a literary tradition dominated by patriarchy.

It's not about breaking a goal down or wishing that something good happens. Forget about all the over-hyped, positive thinking and visualization stuff. Getting what you want from life is much simpler.
The key to getting what you want from life is to set clear goals that are backed up with a consistent routine. Research by Harvard and MIT, found that immediately following sleep, your mind and body are most readily active. Focused, productive and successful mornings generate focused, productive and successful days -- which inevitably create a successful life.
Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Arianna Huffington and Barack Obama, are just a few examples of famous and successful people with morning routines.
Instead of some half baked New Year's Resolutions the blueprint inside this book focuses on the process of actually achieving goals. From how to set goals in the first place to making a plan that allows you to easily ...

Dalton Chetwynd is woken by a phone call from a voice from the past. His best friend has committed suicide. The news summons him from his ten-year exile out of the small coastal town of Southsea back to his hometown, Sedgley, where he must face the life he left behind. In Sedgley there are memories. Some are memories of leaving school and facing the wide world, of camping and sitting around the fire talking about the future, of music and poetry, of swearing and joking, of smoking and partaking in drugs, of friendship and love. Memories of a youthful life lived in a small town in the post-industrial wastelands of the Black Country. But there are memories of darkness, of a cosmic horror that stalked the residents of Sedgley one fateful summer. Memories that drove Dalton into exile, of Lurkers in the shadows carrying his friends off into the celestial underbelly of the cosmos to be experimented on for some eerie purpose. Ten years later Dalton has returned, so have the memories, and so ...

"Les Misérables" is considered one of the greatest novels of the 19th century. Beginning in 1815 and culminating in the 1832 June Rebellion in Paris, the novel follows the lives and interactions of several characters, particularly the struggles of ex-convict Jean Valjean and his experience of redemption. Examining the nature of law and grace, the novel elaborates upon the history of France, the architecture and urban design of Paris, politics, moral philosophy, antimonarchism, justice, religion, and the types and nature of romantic and familial love. Les Misérables has been popularized through numerous adaptations for film, television and the stage, including a musical.

The Red and the Black tells the story of Julien Sorel's life in a monarchic society of fixed social class. It is a historical psychological novel which chronicles the attempts of a provincial young man to rise socially beyond his modest upbringing through a combination of talent, hard work, deception, and hypocrisy. He ultimately allows his passions to betray him. The novel has a two-fold literary purpose, being both a psychological portrait of the romantic protagonist, Julien Sorel, and an analytic, sociological satire of the French social order under the Bourbon Restoration.

Ashley is not your typical angel. She bursts into flames when upset and is irresistibly attracted to fires and nuclear reactors. Sapping their power is exhilarating and her appetite for energy is voracious. She was Daddy's "Little Star," but only now understood this to be literal. Ashley was born to shine, to command light. The Hebrew word for burner or shiner is seraph. There are other seraphim, but only one born on the Earth. Ashley is unique, a precious gift, a protector and champion. She is not an exception to the rule, but the completion of a set. She is not a destroyer, but a game-changer, in the biggest game of all.
A relentless and humorous thriller where every move is a false start and every clue a red herring. Jack faces the Hong Kong mafia and is mixed up in a deadly turf war. The knives and cleavers are out. Engaged to protect a beautiful Chinese girl, the daughter of a Triad Dragon Master, Jack fouls up big time when she is abducted from under his nose. A page turner you can't put down.
Reviews: The latest instalment of Jack Hamma and his detective agency is currently my favourite. Whilst reading this I had a thought, the style of writing is similar to Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently, but slightly more sensible. In my opinion Anthony Thorogood is fast becoming the King of Banter, the pace of the book is fast and this is matched by the pace of the humor. Very funny with a nice tidy story line. And as for the ending, it had me going oooooooh!!!
'... it ended with a twist that took me utterly by surprise.'
