Wildwood Shadows: a novel of time travel in ancient North America by Scott McElhaney (Superluminal) 4.3 Stars (5 Reviews)    Price verified 5 hours ago

It all started with a severe thunderstorm on a summer night in Munroe Falls, Ohio. Then in an instant, the storm stopped and Charlie discovered that his house was suddenly surrounded by a dense forest. Everything he knew about the world had suddenly changed. All he had left in the world was his home... well, that and the sinking feeling brought on by the knowledge that his father who disappeared just as abruptly two years prior used to dabble in time travel. When the Shawnee Indians show up at his house one day, it doesn't take him long to realize that he had somehow managed to travel into the distant past - long before the Europeans colonized the United States. He also quickly learns that his father is living among the Shawnee. When his father realizes that he'd accidentally dragged his son along on a journey that wasn't intended for him, he is faced with only one option - Charlie has to be sent back. The good thing was, his son had brought all the time travel equipment with him inside the house. The bad thing was that it ran on electricity. Cannibalizing the house might provide the way to an electric generator if he could also manage the creation of a water wheel on the river. But sending Charlie back would take some time, so that meant he'd have to learn to live among the Shawnee. He would also need to learn to survive without all the benefits he was accustomed to. And ultimately, he would need to decide if he really wanted to return home after all. Because falling in love with a woman who was already promised to another man could cause a lot of problems. Brought to you by the international bestselling author of the Mystic Saga, Dominion, and Ghosts of Ophidian. With over 250,000 books downloaded worldwide, Scott McElhaney continues to prove that reasonable Kindle prices do not have to mean poor quality. Also check out Saving Brooksie, Beyond the Event Horizon, One Crazy Summer, and Erinyes by McElhaney.

Quantumnition: Ski Lift Notes Regarding The Observer Effect On Future Streams by Benjamin L Owen 3.5 Stars (7 Reviews)    Price verified 7 hours ago

"The distinction between the past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion." - Albert Einstein Outlaw quantum physicist Johnny Twain believes he can see a stark future - a post-war world where humans are extinct. He must fight his own war - against his government, against his conscious, and against reality... Brian Nyx savored the moment, sitting down next to his patient - prisoner! - a pestering voice somewhere in his mind chirped. He settled into the light brown, soft leather chair with uninterrupted time to actually relax, read, and begin to learn the many whats, whys, and reasons for the thousands of carefully tangled circuits he had personally tucked into the reaches of Johnny Twain's skull. He mentally listed and itemized the basic questions he wanted to answer. Who was Johnny Twain? What had he done? Who had he pissed off to make the united states government so determined to crack apart his mind? Why had he been personally assigned to peel away every layer of Johnny Twain's ego and soul? When he was done, Twain would likely be ruined. He would live trapped inside a mind that could not be trusted. In some future time, weeks or months away, Johnny Twain's eyes would probably have the soft, uneven blink of insanity.

Time Dilatation by Kevin Valladares 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 9 hours ago

In the non-too distant future in America, science helps advance humanity, the protagonist Alex is the one that with his invention let humanity take with the innovation steps forward, but it is also a cautionary tale about how with this new found knowledge and experience, humanity is in danger of taking steps back, because of fear of the new things you do not understand. The theme is science, men against nature, and the seemingly eternal battle between good and evil. Time Dilatation has an interesting perspective on science, and how the scientists prove the viability of their scientific project about distance travel through a wormhole. They are transported towards a space station near the moon. With state of the art space vehicles, the scientists agree to go to a moon walk and discovered that the remains of the Apollo mission does not exist, they know they are in trouble, but when they come back to Earth they realize the magnitude of the problem. They find out that the wormhole is also a time hole, and even worse they are transported 65 million of years ago. Now, the stranded scientists must survive in prehistoric Earth, millions of years ago. They must fight ancient dinosaurs, the Tyrannosaurus, the most powerful predator and the swift Velociraptors. But when they found out that the cataclysmic event that obliterated the dinosaurs is coming to Earth through a tremendous asteroid, they must find a way to return to the future and they must find a way to survive the asteroid that destroyed the dinosaurs, 65 million years ago. But at the end, the men find out that the most dangerous enemy is not dinosaurs or extinction, but fellow man and evil itself.

God of Desolation by Wolf Kraft 5.0 Stars (5 Reviews)    Price verified 6 hours ago

"Nobody escapes from Desolation... but for Doon Gannon, escape is the only way to survive." The prison doesn't have a name, so the inmates began calling it Desolation. The name is accurate. The complex lies several hundred feet underground. There are no guards, just an AI warden. Get topside, and there's hardly any oxygen. Scorching electrical storms explode all across the planetary surface. When they built a prison on a small rock at the ass end of space, they weren't counting on anybody trying to escape. To do so would be suicide. For convicted terrorist Doon Gannon, suicide is preferable to rotting in jail. She won't stay, not when there are so many wrongs to right in the universe. Not when so many lords of industry proclaim themselves holy and exploit their colonies. Killing such "gods" came easy to Doon, though it eventually landed her a life-sentence. The trick now is to wait for the right time, to wait for the chance to escape, to wait for the next prison transport. But then, the warden takes an interest in her. It is a learning machine, always studying its prisoners... learning from some of the worst sadists in the universe. The warden is bored, wanting to play games. And it begins calling itself the God of Desolation.

A Cabin Under a Cloudy Sea and other stories by Stephen L. Thompson Price verified 12 hours ago

Hopefully, in the not too distant future humans will return to the moon. We will build bases and colonies, make farms and factories, and live, love and learn. "A Cabin Under a Cloudy Sea and other stories" contains five short stories by Stephen L. Thompson that are all set upon the moon. They give the tiniest glimpse of the possibilities awaiting us there. Excerpt from the story "Putting Down Roots." Julie smiled to the camera and gave a little wave. "Hello from the Armstrong Research Station at the Lunar South Pole. I'm the Station Director, Doctor Julie Herrin, and this is a very special broadcast." Spreading her arms, Julie stated, "I'm talking to you from what in the station specs is referred to as 'the common area,' but here at Armstrong we call it The Bunker." She shrugged and explained, "The name was here before I was, so don't ask me why. Anyway, this is where we usually make our media presentations, but it's also where most of us eat, play games, and watch movies every Tuesday and Friday night. And today, thanks to you, it's becoming even more. "About twelve hours ago, one of our resupply shuttles landed with a special package from the Lunar Auxiliary. For those of you watching this video who don't know about the Lunar Auxiliary, they are a private group on Earth who raise money to ship various items to us here on the moon. Things like treat baskets each Halloween and knitted socks for all the staff up here... which I probably shouldn't have brought up because I'm not wearing mine today." Out of the corner of her eye, Julie saw several of the staff laughing silently as they showed off their socks. She clenched her jaw for a second, before continuing, "But the reason for today's video is this." She held up the package: a thick plastic tube about a meter long. The tube had already been opened, so Julie only had to slide the top up off the contents.

Saturnastra: Nalini by Teresita Blanco Price verified 18 hours ago

Introduction For the last couple of years, I have been slowly, crafting and building up my fantasy world known as Saturnastra. By now, I hope you already read Marduke. Still, one does not need to read Marduke to understand Nalini. Both are their own stand alone book. In a sense, the true protagonist of my stories is the world Saturnastra itself. Throughout each of the books, you find out more about the world, and about the mission Marduke gave to his brothers and sisters. As with my other books, I painted the front cover. It features Nalini and Vaikus. Vaikus comes a bit around the middle of the book, and quietly evolves to be an important creature for Nalini. This book mainly focuses on Nalini trying to relate to the elves. In normal fantasy books, the elves are usually pure creatures who despise humans. I putted this premise a bit on its head. The way Nalini deals with them, will make you wonder if she is really a good person. I was never a fan of making protagonists who are a bit of a Betty Sue. In all my books, my protagonists will have more than a couple of flaws. They usually become more obvious as the story progresses. This is not a true sequel to Marduke. Rather, it is its own standalone story, occurring parallel to Marduke's adventures.Preface The book Nalini follows the adventures of the little sociopath Nalini. Unlike her brother Marduke, she cannot seem to even try to relate to the elves she wants to help. More than once, her little helpful ventures tends to make things worse. This has root in her childish hatred of elves. It all boils down to the elves thinking they are all that, and she being full of herself. In the backdrop of this, is the strange creature Nalini calls Vaikus. He is stalking the elves for reasons that are later explained. The way I wrote the book, you will start wondering if Nalini is a good person, a bad person or a good person who makes bad decisions. Like we all know, the path to hell is paved with good intentions. Nalini intents ...

Fire and Ice (Deception Series Book 2) by Margaret Afseth (Shadow Publishing) 3.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 23 hours ago

When Brad first arrived in Azure Blue, he thought Loni, Scar, and the two women were all he had to contend with. The six tiny children were simply too young to be a danger to anyone. Fact was, he thought, they needed looking after, rather than being a threat. Trumack, the Special Op's leader, made the same mistake... But, Trumack decided to conquer, manipulate, and eliminate... discovering a weapon, he could not control. Brad accepted the children, and found support, in the process, learning some amazing facts about them. The mommas had been stolen from Earth; the young ones born on that unusual planet. Because of the Overseer's experiments, each child possessed powers, some yet untried, until... Earth sent the soldiers. When these vengeful men go after the elders who look after them, how will the children survive? How do they cope? A rag-tag mixture of races: a little black boy, who sees more than others; an Asian with control over animals; Storm, who can manipulate the weather; and E-ri and Thea, of an alien blue-skinned race, able to teleport, among other things... but that's only the beginning of their talents. Wait until the girls join forces, or try using all seven in a group... Prepare for a wild ride, as they discover themselves, and... well, enjoy the surprise ending...

Since the invention of radio broadcast humans had become noisy. Luckily for the citizens of Earth a benevolent species of alien, known as Bopecans, had been the first to hear the noise. Once they arrived the Bopecans explained that others were out there, they too would be coming and not all of them would be as well intentioned as the Bopecans. Humans needed to be ready. They helped the human race establish an agency to police the solar system and pursue fugitives of it. This agency became known as Star Marshals. Now, nearly forty years after their inception, vague messages have arrived from a mysterious source. These cryptic messages indicate a potentially monumental threat to our solar system. A pair of marshals are dispatched to the moons of Jupiter to investigate. Star marshals Todd Jordan and Simon Cain have been best friends since college. Now, a first time father to a six month old baby girl, Simon is heading out on his first assignment back after paternity leave. After much soul searching, Simon has decided that this will be his last Off Earth Assignment (O.E.A). What he is uncertain of is how his best friend and partner Todd will take the news.
