Continuing: An Epic Fantasy Adventure Series (The Starlight Chronicles Book 5) by C. S. Johnson 4.5 Stars (14 Reviews)    Price verified 4 minutes ago

A time of loneliness. A task to fulfill. A heart to break. Things have been peaceful for the past three months in Apollo City. And while this would normally make Hamilton Dinger happy, Raiya's sudden departure leaves him irritated and angry. Despite the decrease in crime and attacks, Hamilton knows it is only a matter of time before the remaining Sinisters and their mysterious new leader cause more trouble for him. When Alora comes under attack, Hamilton and his team, with help from his new friend, Mary, set off with St. Brendan the Navigator to restore the flow of time. But it is only after they work to save Time do they realize how little of it they have left. FROM THE BOOK: I was standing before the entrance to my high school, staring into space and sloshing my feet further into the cold wetness of the surrounding slush, when a foreboding premonition settled on me like softly falling snowflakes. I'm alone. FROM THE AUTHOR: The Starlight Chronicles epic fantasy adventure series continues on with Book 5, Continuing, as Hamilton Dinger and his friends face SWORD, Sinisters, and Elysian's long-lost brother, Draco the Dragon. Look for Book 6, Outpouring, to see how it all comes crashing together! Perfect for young teenagers or disaffected college students, or adults who enjoy some satire mixed in with some star-crossed lovers and high school drama! WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING: It is fun watching the youngsters turning into adults, watching their love mature and strengthen. Sure, they have lots to do on the hero side of things and there is the unraveling of mysteries as they go. Never a dull moment. ~ Gay, Goodreads Reviewer A Fantastic Continuation of The Starlight Chronicles. I cannot wait to read and listen to the next one. ~ Malissa, Goodreads Reviewer

Wisdom from a Distant Galaxy, The Ascendant Intelligence by M.G. Hawking 4.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 12 minutes ago

The author, M.G. Hawking, spent sixty-two months deep in the Great Range of the Himalaya, during which time he and his companions experienced three encounters with individuals they believe to have been the true extraterrestrials goddesses of ancient Tibetan and Himalayan legends. Experience these extraordinary encounters and the ascendant intelligence they conveyed. Throughout the Himalayan regions of Asia, there have endured remarkable accounts of "extraterrestrial beings" who, having arrived in an antediluvian era of prehistory, still dwell in a concealed inner region of the immense frozen fortress of the Great Range. Are these ubiquitous legends merely myths? Or are they representative of some vaguely remembered reality passed down through generations beyond count? Absent an ember, there can be no smoke; there is a kernel of truth in all such ancient legends and, in light of today's astronomical knowledge, they cannot be easily, or wisely, dismissed. Data from the Kepler Space Observatory. has revealed that, rather than the previously estimated 200 billion galaxies in the observable universe, there are more than ten trillion galaxies (JPL, Oct 2016). To put this in perspective, if you hold a single grain of sand at arm's length against the night sky, the tiny patch of sky it hides contains more than 100,000 galaxies -- not 100,000 stars, 100,000 galaxies. These range in size from dwarf galaxies with a few billion stars to giant galaxies with 100 trillion stars. The incomprehensible immensity of our universe inspires a deep sense of awe -- and inspires as well many questions. What's really out there? Is there life anywhere else? Clearly, the number of stars in our universe is beyond the mind of man to number, but what about planets? As of mid-2017, NASA had verified the existence of over 3750 exoplanets, that is, planets orbiting other stars in our Milky Way galaxy. "It's very exciting," said NASA's Dr. William Kinney. "It opens up the universe. Now we know ...

Sherlock Holmes: Adventures Beyond the Canon by David Marcum (Belanger Books) 3.0 Stars (7 Reviews)    Price verified 56 minutes ago

Sherlock Holmes himself would have us believe that, once a case was finished, it - or the people involved - never crossed his mind again. "A client is to me a mere unit," he once told Watson, "a factor in a problem." And yet, in a career spanning multiple decades and thousands of cases, he must have occasionally re-crossed paths with previous clients - and the occasional villain as well! This anthology, with twenty-nine brand new stories, spread over three volumes, reveals some of those sequel investigations. There are stories ranging from Holmes's early days in Montague Street, through the legendary Baker Street years, and well into his retirement. We meet former clients with new problems, and former adversaries too. Sometimes we find that the published Canonical version of a story was only the beginning, while other tales in this collection reveal what was really going on during the original narratives. Join us as we return to Baker Street and discover more authentic adventures of Sherlock Holmes, described by the estimable Dr. Watson as "... the best and wisest... whom I have ever known." The game is afoot! Volume I - 1887-1890 The Swamp Adder (A Poem) - Rhea Belanger A Gentleman's Disagreement - Narrelle M. Contents: Romeo And Juliet Coriolanus Titus Andronicus Timon Of Athens Julius Caesar Macbeth Hamlet, Prince Of Denmark Troilus And Cressida King Lear Othello, The Moor Of Venice Antony And Cleopatra Cymbeline William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616) was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon". His extant works, including some collaborations, consist of about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and a few other verses, the authorship of some of which is uncertain.

Three Cities Trilogy: Lourdes, Rome & Paris: (Three Cities Trilogy) by Emile Zola (Musaicum Books) Price verified 4 hours ago

In this trilogy, translated by Ernest Alfred Vizetelly (1853-1922), Zola delves into the history and politics of the Catholic church. The protagonist of all three novels is Abbé Pierre Froment. In Lourdes Pierre seemed in danger of losing his faith, but Rome opens with the young priest experiencing a newfound fervor toward his calling. Lourdes Lourdes, originally published in 1894, is the first volume in Emile Zola's Three Cities Trilogy. Zola examines the phenomena of the Lourdes shrine in southern France, and the pilgrims who go there. Based on his own trip to the fabled grotto, the novel follows a simple five-part structure corresponding to the five-day train trip from Paris to Lourdes and back. Rome Originally published in 1896, Rome is the second volume in the Three Cities Trilogy. The story takes place in the late 19th century, shortly after Italy has gained its independence and absorbed the former Papal States. Zola repeatedly contrasts the former glory of Imperial Rome with the city's present state of financial ruin and decay. The populace of Rome is split between two factions, the "black" and the "white" -- those faithful to the Vatican and those loyal to the new Italian government. The church in turn is divided among those who adamantly cling to time-honored dogma and those who think the church must make concessions and broaden its appeal in order to survive in the modern world. Paris Paris is the third volume of the Three Cities trilogy. Published in 1898, Paris is Zola's summation of the 19th Century and his predictions and hopes for the 20th Century. In this work Zola gives a splendid portrayal of social life in Paris at the end of the century. He takes us into the lives of men and women of the upper classes, the working class, and even revolutionary Anarchists.

CLASSROOM CARNAGE by Bryn M Parry 3.2 Stars (2 Reviews)    Price verified 4 hours ago

Desperate, and fairly incompetent,Todd Percival is not having a very good week. His downstairs neighbour's night terrors have left him devoid of the substantial period of sleep which is absolutely essential for anyone contemplating a day of teaching Science to some 'less than enthusiastic' teenagers. When his woes are compounded by the double-whammy of his headmaster leaving the sinking ship to do a moonlight-flit to a different continent and the heartbreaking discovery that the love interest he has worshipped (from across a crowded, de-motivated, staffroom) had taken to French kissing a much more desirable male colleague than he, Todd decided to take stock of his present lifestyle/rut. True to his purely sedentary character, Mr Percival decided to tough it out until pensionable age or death (whichever came first). Bizarrely, the latter of this brace of eventualities was soon to rear its ugly, fatalistic, head when our questionable hero suffered a pre-planned, and almost lethal, electrocution event. The perpetrator of this 'full-body ionisation' could have been any one of a legion of suspects who had an axe to grind concerning the clinically unlucky, and slightly charrred, victim. Even with the help of the finest brains of the Merseyside Police Force, Todd was unable to discover the identity of the psychotic mind behind this darkest of deeds (and also the, particularly gruesome, murders of two of his acquaintances). Fearing a follow-up dosage of voltage he took the life-changing, and potentially life-preserving, decision to quit is quasi-career and take a year out to 'find himself' (you'll have to ask him what that means... ) whilst travelling around this beautiful little planet of ours. A catalogue of calamities accumulate in poor 'Percy's' diary entries as he struggled to come to terms with the colourful cultures of his first series of destinations in South America. Unfortunately, but not unsurprisingly, things go terribly badly (and we're talking disastrously ...

Thus Spoke Zarathustra: The Magnum Opus of the World's Most Influential Philosopher, Revolutionary Thinker and the Author of The Antichrist, The ... by Friedrich Nietzsche (Musaicum Books) 2.9 Stars (2 Reviews)    Price verified 6 hours ago

Thus Spoke Zarathustra (subtitled as A Book for All and None) chronicles the fictitious travels and speeches of Zarathustra, the founder of Zoroastrianism. While Nietzsche injects myriad ideas into the book, a few recurring themes stand out. The overman (Übermensch), a self-mastered individual who has achieved his full power, is an almost omnipresent idea in Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Man as a race is merely a bridge between animals and the overman. Nietzsche also makes a point that the overman is not an end result for a person, but more the journey toward self-mastery. Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) was a German philosopher, poet, and Latin and Greek scholar whose work has exerted a profound influence on Western philosophy and modern intellectual history. Because of Nietzsche's evocative style and provocative ideas, his philosophy generates passionate reactions. His works remain controversial, due to varying interpretations and misinterpretations of his work. In the Western philosophy tradition, Nietzsche's writings have been described as the unique case of free revolutionary thought, that is, revolutionary in its structure and problems, although not tied to any revolutionary project.

Cupping Therapy: Relieve Pain, Reduce Inflammation, and Remove Toxins with the Egyptian Healing Art by Joanne Hillyer 4.2 Stars (4 Reviews)    Price verified 6 hours ago

Want to learn the secret that helped Michael Phelps become the most winning Olympic athlete in history? Download this book now and start reading on your Kindle, eBook reader, Mac, PC, iPad, Android, or tablet! Cupping is an ancient healing technique that dates back thousands of years, all the way to the ancient Egyptians. Although the specific applications vary from place to place, the use of cupping is found in cultures around the world. It is known to have been used by Hippocrates, the Greek physician known as the Father of Modern Medicine, who lived around 400 B.C. It was named as a great medicine by the Prophet Mohammed in the Quran. Cupping has been a part of traditional Chinese medicine since the third or fourth centuries A.D. and is still used regularly in both traditional Chinese medicine and in modern Chinese hospitals. Cupping works by placing vessels (cups) at specific points on the body and inducing a suction to draw the blood within the treatment area up to the surface of the skin, which results in increased blood flow within the treatment area. As a result of the suction, cupping often causes bruise-like marks on the skin. Cupping garnered worldwide attention when those marks were spotted on the back and shoulders of American Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps at the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. Did you know there are different types of cupping, and that they are used for different purposes? This ancient healing method has been used to treat muscle and joint pain and injuries, illness, and toxicity in the body. In this book we'll cover: • What is cupping? • Types of cupping • The history of cupping • How does cupping work? • The benefits of cupping • What to expect from cupping • A diagram of cupping point locations In this book I will walk you through everything you need to know about the various methods of cupping, the benefits and applications of each, who uses it, and what to look for if you are interested in trying ...

BACCHUS AND HIS DEMONS by I. M. PHOENIX 4.6 Stars (3 Reviews)    Price verified 6 hours ago

Sex, drugs and rock and roll are wrapped around one man's quest to defy the bounds of his very existence, desperate is he to deny the mental illness that rages within, he will go to almost any length to fight it, even if that means taking himself to the brink of destruction. Three people across Europe are drawn together over time, each carrying their own demons; the repressed police man, the female, bohemian designer and finally, the central character, a young Dutch man who seems to be on this self destruct mode. His demons the most transparent, are ones he feels determined to fight and deny to the bitter end. The story begins at the end, showing the reader a glimpse in to a world of excess and regret against a back drop of sun, sea and hedonism where the main character must finally come to terms with and deal with the trajectory he has taken. To find out how he got there the book goes back in time to show where he came from and how he became connected with the other two characters. The Moscow Militia: Jack Driver Spy Series Volume 1 (Jack Driver's Spy Stories) by Joe Scartz 3.3 Stars (13 Reviews)    Price verified 6 hours ago

Jack Driver could sell anything. He was a pitchman for the largest advertising agency in the world and was a legendary figure in the business. What no one knew however, is that he had a secret and deadly second life. This second life was one that almost killed him on more than one occasion and was now calling on him once again. So, when the call came to prevent a European insurgency that stood poised to set off World War III, undercover CIA agent, Jack Driver, naturally rose to the occasion to the detriment of his marriage and "ordinary" life. Dispatched to Germany and then Estonia under the auspices of an advertising pitch to the Estonian Tourism Bureau, Driver set out to disrupt the dangerous Moscow Militia. The deadly group of separatists had increasingly been interfering with Estonian politics and had pushed the country toward civil war. Yet, what Driver discovered when he arrived there was much more menacing. He uncovered a lost but familiar foe in Able Vadim and his shadowy group of global terrorists whose real aim was nothing short of international chaos and profit. Vadim's maniacal plot to unleash a massive dirty bomb in the heart of London, if successful, would trigger an epic showdown between Russia and Europe that would shatter the prevailing world order. Thwarting the plot and unmasking the actual intent of his enemy were just part of what Driver needed to accomplish. He also had to find his soul again after a bitter split with his wife and a steel-willed MI6 Agent, Veronica Wilder, helped him to do just that.

The Crucible 2: Invisible World -A Witch in Salem 1692 (Second Edition) by Clark Wilkins 3.5 Stars (2 Reviews)    Price verified 6 hours ago

Salem 1692 - where marriages were arranged, love is of the devil, the jails packed, drunkenness the only entertainment, and smallpox passes through like the wind - was a place where women were allowed wicked thoughts but not to act on them and where men were forbidden wicked thoughts but allowed to act on them. It was a place pretending piety but swimming in sin. Using a scientific method known as "higher criticism" the evidence shows the story of "The Crucible" far exceeds that of Arthur Miller's play. The "Crucible 2" puts the story right. Written in novel form but footnoted for accuracy, discover the story of Abigail Williams, a young orphan girl doomed to servitude, who at age 10 is of legal age of consent and dreams of marrying a man of duty, love, honor, and fame - a love the Puritan Church denies her but she vows to have. Learn of Elizabeth Proctor, a sickly woman, fearful of dying in childbirth, who is cold and neglectful towards her husband, the only man in the colony of duty, love, honor, and fame. Unmask Samuel Parris as a reverend willing to hang his own congregation for money while fearing for his own soul. Watch as he discovers in the devil's book and Abigail Williams the key to all power. This is a web of deceit conceived and weaved by a man who didn't believe in witches at all, a man unable to make an honest living, who sought to preserve the failing Puritan Church that he might save his wealth and position by any means, including murder. He will unite all this wickedness and sin together in a paranormal tale of witchcraft, debauchery, fornication, false witness, hangings, a four year old girl going mad in prison chains, and even the whipping of a corpse in this, the devil's own romance. And, finally, there is Elizabeth's husband, a man of duty, love, honor, and fame, who had the misfortune in this community to be him.

American Legends: The Life of Nat Turner by Charles River Editors 3.6 Stars (11 Reviews)    Price verified 6 hours ago

*Includes pictures. *Includes Turner's own words about his life and slave rebellion. *Includes a bibliography for further reading. *Includes a table of contents. "The late insurrection in Southampton has greatly excited the public mind, and led to a thousand idle, exaggerated and mischievous reports. It is the first instance in our history of an open rebellion of the slaves, and attended with such atrocious circumstances of cruelty and destruction, as could not fail to leave a deep impression, not only upon the minds of the community where this fearful tragedy was wrought, but throughout every portion of our country, in which this population is to be found." - Thomas R. Gray, The Confessions of Nat Turner A lot of ink has been spilled covering the lives of history's most influential figures, but how much of the forest is lost for the trees? In Charles River Editors' American Legends series, readers can get caught up to speed on the lives of America's most important men and women in the time it takes to finish a commute, while learning interesting facts long forgotten or never known. In American history, there are few people as controversial or consequential as Nat Turner, who was one of millions of slaves in the South before the Civil War but ultimately led the nation's most notorious slave uprising. In August 1831, Turner led a rebellion that terrorized Virginia for several days, killing dozens of whites and freeing slaves as his band moved from plantation to plantation. The Richmond Enquirer reported, "A fanatic preacher by the name of Nat Turner (Gen. Nat Turner) who had been taught to read and write, and permitted to go about preaching in the country, was at the bottom of this infernal brigandage. He was artful, impudent and vindicative, without any cause or provocation, that could be assigned." Even after the uprising was put down, Turner evaded capture for a few months, and after he was captured, his "confessions" were taken down and published before he ...

The War of the Jews: against the Roman Empire by David Mandel 4.7 Stars (7 Reviews)    Price verified 7 hours ago

THE WAR OF THE JEWS against the Roman Empire recounts the Great Jewish Rebellion of the 1st Century (66 CE to 73 CE) against the Roman Empire. It is a novelization of the book of Josephus Flavius (Josef ben Matityahu), "The War of the Jews," in which the protagonist, participant, and historian of the war, narrates it, in a frank and objective way, the war from both sides of the conflict. The Great Jewish Rebellion, which ended with the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, was one of the greatest tragedies in the history of the Jewish people, and the beginning of an exile that lasted 2,000 years. The book narrates, in the clear and entertaining style of David Mandel, the causes, events, and consequences of the Great Rebellion, whose effects we still feel in our days and helps us to understand contemporary developments in the Middle East. "The War of the Jews" is a novel that everyone interested in knowing better the history of the Jewish people will enjoy.

Intermediate and Advanced Options Trading Strategies There is no shortage of explanations and guides for how to use options to make a profit in any type of market. What those resources lack is the down to earth language that is required to truly understand the basic principles of options trading and how to turn a profit using a variety of different strategies. This book comes from the perspective of someone who began trading options late in his career. I aim to teach you about options, their utility, the risks and advantages, and ideal times to use specific strategies, in a way that is far easier to understand than any material you have looked at before. Six years ago I came to options trading with little knowledge of the mechanics, but with dedication and hearing the promise that there was room to turn a profit if you had drive and ambition, made myself into a successful options trader. I see many people today that share that drive and ambition, and I want to provide a resource that I wish I had six years ago, a clear tool for understating options and various trading strategies. From the different states of market volatility, to perceptions of markets, to trades for any investor coming from any position or size, this book will be an essential resource to help you truly internalize options trading strategies. Inside you will find: • Clearly explained strategies that can be used to turn a profit in any market condition • An explanation of options, their utility, and detailed examples of how you can use them to earn a profit • Real life examples and case studies of how options have been used to make tremendous profit in a variety of market conditions, from the 2008 financial crisis, to a steadily improving company • Knowledge that comes from someone who was able to quit their full time job to focus on options trading as their career.
