If it took place, then it can happen again." - Jean-Paul Sartre It began as a dispute over males visiting female student's dormitories. Shattered by Diana Nixon 4.1 Stars (12 Reviews)    Price verified one hour ago

It was love at first sight; a story that was supposed to last forever. A young heart that had never known true love, and a lonely soul seeking something real. I was that soul, and Elizabeth Brown was my beautiful heart, innocent and full of lawless passion. She made me believe that love can change anything. And it did change me... It broke me, it shattered me. The betrayal that I never saw coming, was like a dagger straight through my heart. In the blink of an eye, my love was replaced by endless hate and pain that I thought I would never be able to forget. But who would have thought that even bleeding hearts can love? Who would have believed that in eyes with no hope, a new fire can start burning? "I will make her fall for me again. And then, I will ruin her, just like she ruined me... "

In the Spirit of Things by DAN TRUMBLE Price verified one hour ago

One week of extraordinary events moves country editor Henry Field to get deeply involved in the stories behind the stories: mysterious shootings, a sexual assault, costly vandalism, and the brash behavior of the local college's new basketball hero. The lives of colorful, entertaining townspeople are woven in a cross current of events that include the ire of the town's richest person, the cheeky conduct of a sinking country/gospel singer, a manhunt led by a captain with the state troopers, and a shake-up of the staff at Henry's newspaper. Unexpected, often comical action in this small West Virginia town propels the reader through the ninth of the author's novels, quite possibly his best.

Unlocking a Gift - from psychic to medium to channel by Shane McMinn 4.2 Stars (3 Reviews)    Price verified 2 hours ago

The creation of this book was initiated after a conversation between the author and friends after hosting an author evening. The author agreed with others that the creation of this book, a book purely about psychic development and experiences, would help the development of others that were themselves upon their own spiritual pathway. In Unlocking a Gift, the author talks about growing up within a spiritual family where his father was a trance channel. He shares his own experiences, regarding his own development, from initial beginnings as being psychic as a child through to working as a medium before developing himself further to channel. This book also contains many developmental exercises for those potential mediums of the future.

UFO MYSTERIES 2006 O'HARE 2008 STEPHENVILLE by H. R. Phillips 1.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 2 hours ago

What makes any UFO report or sighting rise to the level of being `important or mysterious'? In American society - only the involvement of the national news media matters as far as providing importance and `validation' to the mysterious UFO phenomena. And, in the early 2000's, only two UFO stories rose to the level of being `important' or mysterious to the American media - the first was the 2006 UFO incident over Chicago O'Hare Airport; and, the second was the 2008 UFO events in early 2008 in Stephenville, Texas. The 2006 incident, over restricted airspace, wasn't even a real `issue' until the FAA issued a report that basically denied it even occurred. Then, the MSM (mainstream media) pushed back with coverage that included interviews with the airport personal who witnessed the highly unusual daytime event - in essence providing an alternative view to the governments official response. This book features the specifics about the 2006 Chicago O'Hare Airport UFO Incident - including why it was significant - and how the television media covered it and the government explanation of the event. But, the first decade of the new millennium was to have at least one more major confrontation over versions of the truth about UFO's between the MSM and the official government line about the UFO phenomenon. The reason? Almost exactly a year after the first confrontation between the MSM and the government about `UFO's' - came the over the top UFO events in Stephenville Texas - and the nearly unbelievable quick response of the MSM in their coverage of the UFO story. Indeed, when the radar verified Stephenville, Texas UFO events first started in Jan. 2008 - the mainstream media was immediately on location and interviewing witnesses with amazing descriptions of something seemingly not of human origin. One version of the UFO craft placed its size at up to a mile wide. On other occasions what appeared in the sky could be best described as `Sky Symbols'; - were the `aliens' trying to ...

Psychedelic Hero's Journey of a Traveling Nobody by Traveling Nobody 4.2 Stars (8 Reviews)    Price verified 4 hours ago

Follow a "nobody" of the cosmic flux through Joseph Campbell's "hero's journey," propelled by the unconscious embodiment of a disastrous, left-brained, materialist mindset. Material estrangement from the natural reflects in the "Mystery's Mirror" (the cosmos, reality) to begin the domino effect that leads this traveler astray and to inevitable destruction via heartbreak. Heeding the "Call to Adventure," ensuing reconstitution of the self fuels the exploration as to the "why" of such a calamity. Such a process brings this "nobody" to a more comprehensive understanding of that which "is." Replete with illuminations from the divine feminine dimension of the planet's plant and fungal teachers, a naturalistic ever-shifting philosophy emerges combining the "immediacy of direct psychedelic experience" (Terence McKenna), Buddhism, Hinduism, and Natural Law mechanics via Hermeticism. What is existence? What is consciousness? What is happening outside culturally partitioned values and the material five-sense world? From the perspective of a reporting "tabula rasa explorer," the search is for that which "is," that which we "are" (humanity), and "where to go from there" via active voyage to shamanic digital dimensions beyond language. As we are all imbued with the ethereal flowing elixir of consciousness, it "checks out" to "check it out." Join this cosmic "traveling nobody" through his awakening from egoic material slumber to conscious cell of the Infinite Universal Mysterious Organism.

2034 A.D. Textbook of the Future -The Radical New Look at Evolution that Will Become Mainstream in 20 years by Jeff T. Bowles (University Science Press LLC) 5.0 Stars (5 Reviews)    Price verified 4 hours ago

"Best book on evolution yet written! This is from a guy(me) who has literally read hundreds of book's on evolution.I highly recommend this book to you, if you are the slightest bit curious about evolution, health, or just the future of longevity.. I like this book so much I am buying and pushing this book on all my friends and family who have even a few neurons of interest in evolution or health." A.C. "An important scientific innovation rarely makes its way by gradually winning over and converting its opponents: What does happen is that the opponents gradually die out. " "Science advances one funeral at a time." MP "New scientific ideas never spring from a communal body, however organized, but rather from the head of an individually inspired researcher who struggles with his problems in lonely thought and unites all his thought on one single point which is his whole world for the moment." ? Max Planck The evidence has been mounting for years, and has been ignored by years, by mainstream scientists, that the "selfish gene" paradigm is woefully inadequate to explain much of what is observed in the world around us. This book completes the theory of evolution to conclusively and simultaneously solve all the remaining conundrums and paradoxes that have been plaguing evolutionary theorists for decades such as the existence and purpose of of sex and aging, make and female sex types, and even homosexuality. It is quite likely this will be the textbook for Evolution 101 in the year 2034. If this particular book is not used , the ideas contained herein certainly will be. Fun To Read!- Written in an easy to understand style for normal readers and scientists alike. This radical new view of evolution leads to many shocking conclusions about evolution's unexplained paradoxes. One chapter includes a detailed examination of how various human hormones change with aging, and how the "good" hormones decline with age, and how the "bad" hormones intentionally designed by ...

THE HOLY DOCTRINE OF LUCIFER by Dr.Amschel (pseudonym) 4.9 Stars (10 Reviews)    Price verified 4 hours ago

The problem of perception is the greatest problem in whole philosophy. How can it be for the perceptual experience to transfer into an openness to the thought independent world? Is it that some personal experiences are themselves in their essence not an authentic representation of the relations to ordinary objects? Or in fact, they are not representing the relations to ordinary objects. Naive realism is a theory belonging to the philosophy of mind established as a common-sense theory of perception. It describes people's inclination to trust they see the social world "as it is" or as representation of objective reality, instead of a subjective creation and interpretation of reality. This is the blind trust of an individual that perceptions are realistic, and not prejudiced interpretations of the social world. Perception is a subjective construction of the social world instead of direct representation of objective reality. Consequently, people's notions and perceptions correlate both the objective world and the cognitive processes that transform those objective characteristics into psychologically advanced characteristics. Naive realists want to keep up awareness of our ordinary conception of perceptual experience. Thus, they think of the experience as not representational in a sense that what is basic to experience is something which cannot be explained as representing the world. The man tosses back upon himself. It is he who gives his action intention. If he looks in the external for the grounds that give direction to his will, he will look in vain. If he is to go beyond merely satisfying his natural instincts, then he must seek these grounds in his own moral principles, unless he finds it more convenient to let himself be determined by the moral principles of others, actually, he must stop his action altogether, or else he must act for reasons that others choose for him out of their interest. In this manner, a Man is the last determinant of his action. He is ...

You are in a Wonderful World: Mindfulness - Guide to Awakening, Personal Growth, Positive Thinking, Self-Esteem, Continuous Improvement - Step away ... by Aurora Gadhatta 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 4 hours ago

Mindfulness is more than just a buzzword that has been shared on several blogs in the past decade or a trend that was put in action to sell a few products to people searching for a better life. Mindfulness is a way of life that has the capacity to transform your very existence and assist you with living your best life possible. The human mind already has the capacity to be mindful but, believe it or not, it does not tend to lean toward mindfulness on its own. Instead, your mind likes to make everything automatic so that it does not have to put the effort or energy into mindfully thinking about every new activity that you engage with. To your brain, this is a wonderful survival tool that helps minimize the amount of energy that it allocates to thinking so that you can do other things like digest your food or process information without too much difficulty. That being said, your brain takes it to the extreme. If you do not take the time to teach yourself how to engage mindfully in each task that you accomplish, the chances are your brain will continue to live on autopilot and you will continue to live an overwhelming and stressed out life until the end of your existence. Fortunately, taking over and teaching yourself how to become more mindful is not challenging. Beyond that, it has countless benefits that can help you live your best life possible. From helping you step away from the stress of everyday life to helping you get more out of your daily experiences, mindfulness will change your life in every way possible. It is well worth taking the time to understand what mindfulness is and how it works so that you can begin to live a less stressed and more enjoyable life overall. In You Are in a Wonderful World we are going to discuss just that. We will explore many different concepts about how you can live your best life possible through the power of mindfulness, including stepping away from stress and toward joy and satisfaction in your life. Some of the ...

The Reluctant Sleuth (A Humorous Romantic Sara Calder Mystery Book 1) by Samantha Evers 4.1 Stars (9 Reviews)    Price verified 6 hours ago

If you enjoy light-hearted mysteries with intelligent (though less than perfect) heroines, a dash of humor, and a generous bit of romance, then please join Sara Calder as she navigates life's ups and downs in The Reluctant Sleuth (A Sara Calder Mystery). Who would have thought that someone as sensible and practical as Sara Calder would take on the role of detective to solve the fifteen-year-old mystery of her husband's disappearance? Certainly not Sara. For over a decade, she's managed to live a quiet and uncomplicated life in Montana. Having sworn off men and all things romantic, she enjoys her sedate (some might say dull) existence. But suddenly, strange things are happening. Her picture and private information appear on a dating website, posted by an unknown person. A few weeks later, her car is rammed from behind and sent crashing down the side of a mountain (with her in it). As unsettling as it is, Sara suspects the events are linked to her husband's disappearance from over a decade ago. She doesn't have a choice -- she has to figure out what really happened to her long-lost love. Oddly enough, while playing detective Sara suddenly finds herself attracted to not just one, but two men. Unfortunately, each man has a secret. And one of those secrets might prove deadly for Sara.

The End May Be Much Nearer Than We Think by Lee Jr, James Thomas 2.5 Stars (2 Reviews)    Price verified 7 hours ago

In my adult Sunday school class on December 12, 1982, I spoke to the class about the Theory of Evolution and expressed my beliefs about how that theory is affecting our life and how it will lead to the Great Tribulation. Remarkable as such a statement may sound I believe it to be very much the truth. Therefore, I have written this book to retrace the steps that led to the above lecture and also to share my findings concerning the relationship that exists between the Theory of Evolution and the Great Tribulation. I hope to relate in this summary not just a review of that Sunday morning class but also to provide a trail of my research. Perhaps, after reading these pages, my reader will be led to conclude, as I already have, that the end may be much nearer than we think. Chapter one will present the reason for all of my research. In trying to teach the Book of Revelation, I found several questions about the Great Tribulation that I could not answer but felt should be answered. With all of those questions on my mind, I left the Book of Revelation knowing that my learning was not complete and that it would not be complete until I learned some more answers about the Tribulation. Chapter two will move away from the Tribulation for a bit and follow the class into a study of the book of Genesis. However, it will appear again based on my examination of that one book right after having studied the other. From that sequence of events, I was able to see that the accounts of those two seemingly unrelated events, Creation and the Tribulation, were drawn closer and closer. In chapter three, the Theory of Evolution will be shown to be the catalyst that will eventually set off the Great Tribulation. That chapter will discuss the devil and his tactics and also look at four reasons why the Tribulation may be near. Finally, in chapter four, the Book of Revelation will be examined again in narrative form to answer those questions that had initially been raised in chapter one. I know ...

Beyond Good & Evil: A Serial Killer Thriller (Victor Loshak Book 1) by L.T. Vargus (Smarmy Press) 4.1 Stars (111 Reviews)    Price verified 7 hours ago

He slips through the unlocked window. Creeps down the hall. A shadow standing in the bedroom doorway. Will you wake when death comes ripping? A string of brutal home invasion murders terrifies Dade County, Florida. The killer strikes in the dead of the night, savages innocent people in their beds, wipes out entire families. He attacks at random. Rich. Poor. Young. Old. No one is safe. When the city sleeps, he comes alive. Stalks the night. Walks among us. The investigation is hopeless. There's little physical evidence to work with, and the killer's chaotic behavior makes him as unpredictable as he is dangerous. What drives someone to such violence? And how can anyone make sense of such brutality? The task force leading the investigation needs a profiler, and there's only one man for the job. Loshak. Special Agent Victor Loshak. The 53 year-old likes his Dunkin' Donuts coffee shaken, not stirred. And now, for the first time, he's on his own. But how far will this case push him? In recent years, Loshak has slowed down some. He relies on more wit than grit these days, often playing a mentor role to his partner, Violet Darger. Until now, she always had more than enough grit for both of them. But Darger isn't around this time, and a killer this aggressive will push Loshak to his limits. And beyond. Yeah, he'll need to find that grit again... or die trying. This pulse-pounding thriller will have you holding your breath until the final page. Fans of John Sandford, Karin Slaughter, Michael Connelly, and Lisa Gardner should check out the Victor Loshak series.

Undo: The Poetry and Story of HER by Cheryl R Cowtan Price verified 8 hours ago

How can you protect yourself and your daughter from relationship violence? Start with "her" stories. Sometimes witty, sometimes shocking, but always pro-woman empowerment, this evocative telling explores relationships gone very wrong. From the restructuring of ancient texts to vivid depictions of Canadian bush parties, this raw collection of witty stories, quirky graphics, and stunning poetry tackles male violence, coming-of-age journeys, and the female experience. Light on feminist theories, but heavy on emotional impact, you will be affected, whether through how you think about male violence or how you remember it. This book is meant and written to be evocative (to trigger emotion). The stories and poems within are meant to capture your heart, light your concern for the future of women, and maybe even change how you view victims and perpetrators. Remember, it's not about crying, it's about releasing and then, strengthening. It's not about turning away, it's about seeing that which we can barely stand, and that which we can barely understand, and then changing the view. For those who ever wished they had never said "yes" to a man, and for those who said "no", but were not heard. @~)~~~~The Plundered Bush~~~~(~@ "Did you hear what happened last night at the bush party?" Sage asks. "What?" I cloak my interest by lighting a smoke. Sucking the grey fumes in through my mouth, I show off my strong, white teeth. Then, I blow it out through my nose. Dragon fierce. "Leslie, she got raped," she says in an offhand manner. I lean forward, all my attention on her now. "What do you mean, raped?" I ask. "You know-gang raped?" She steps back, seems unsure. "Who did it?" I fist my hands and pin her against the brick wall with the intensity of my glare. "They all did." She pauses for effect like an actress. I wait for it, daring her with a narrowing of my lids. "Dayle was there, too." She drops her bomb. @~)~~~~The Knight Shift~~~~(~@ I'm sitting here ...

LOVE SONGS TO MY BRAIN: a memoir by David Orenstein 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 4 hours ago

Love Songs To My Brain is an unconventional memoir told in poetry, dramatic dialogue, and clinical reports that present the author's journey as a seventeen-year-old suburban California boy who, on the brink of graduation from high school is diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. It documents his experience of surgeries, radiation, seizures and resultant visual deficits, hearing loss, memory problems, migraine and other neuropsychological setbacks. Parts of his subsequent development are portrayed; attempts at romance, formal education, successes and failures in the working world and growing to become a writer. This memoir has a surrealistic quality; it is by turns dreamlike, nightmarish, humorous, clinical, almost impersonal -- depicting the perseverance necessary to confront this life-changing traumatic illness and navigate a path to maturity. It is a coming-of-age story, a medical and psychological drama, and a romantic narrative of the struggle for survival with universal appeal that speaks to young people who have experienced brain illness, their families and caregivers. Ultimately, it depicts how people, with love and help, can get through just about anything.

Join Weal in this short story as he tries to find his girlfriend Qianna and save her from a terrible fate. The people of Maan raided the peaceful settlement of Adol, and took captives back to their homeland. There they are destined to become a wild, dragon-like people if someone doesn't intervene! Find out in this 3,000 word illustrated short story. Perfect for teens, pre-teens, and busy adults who want a satisfying quick read. Excerpt Weal ducked behind a crumbling wall and leaned up against it. He was breathing heavily and his heartbeat thrummed loudly in his ears. Ahead of him Prophet ducked into an abandoned building, and behind him Zenith was standing behind a large slab of marble that had once been a statue. They waited for what seemed an eternity. Weal's leg was beginning to cramp when he heard the sound of shuffling, drunken footsteps. The guard swaggered on her feet and looked like she would tumble to the earth with each slanted step. Finally she slumped against the side of the abandoned building and slid to the ground. A moment later a loud snore escaped her lips and her foot twitched. Weal stood slowly, and Prophet poked his head out of the door to look at the guard. With a look of regret he shook his head, then signaled to Zenith and Weal that it was safe to move. Weal looked at the guard as they crept past. Her ears were pointed, and so were her fingers. Obviously she had been assigned to the outskirts of the city. From what Prophet and Zenith had told him, he was about to see much worse as they approached the center of the city. They moved on and kept their hoods up as they passed the citizens of Maan who stumbled through the streets. "Why didn't you kill the guard back there?" Weal asked when they had traveled several blocks. Zenith and Prophet exchanged glances, then Zenith said, "Because ...
