Summer's End is a collection of poems that speak to the emotions of teenage existence. Each poem takes you through a journey of innocence lost. From first love, to loss of virginity, and painful breakups.
St. Pierre offers us a vision of a world on the cusp of a tremendous change. Crafted in the days when quiet was possible and that preceded the incessant buzz of pop culture permeating every moment of our lives, these verses offer sullen meditations on love, death, youth, passion, and denial.
Briefly dream of a world before smart phones, social media, and streaming video in this collection of short, accessible, poetry that explores the eternal in our humanity. In many instances this is accomplished through the engagement with mythological themes in a modern setting. Although often brief, St. Pierre's poems contain a fragile elegance denoting their classical influences - while remaining lucid and original.
A city holds certain romance
but there is a deep and darkening feeling
I'm not sure where she could be,
but I can feel her red heart beating
I can feel this moment fleeting.
City, Ruby is a chapbook with an existential look inside the modern city persona - a life affected by ever-accelerating technology and the inhumane perception against the poor and working. But under it all, there are moments of pure human connection when two souls find escape within each other. This collection is inspired by the character of Seattle, the Emerald City, and the constant yet futile desire to escape from it. It is a searching question into the hidden world of suits and gowns, of galas and the view from the skyline.
This is first collection from rising Seattle author Seth Seong, written directly from the heart, without pretense. He utilizes both the Korean Sijo form, and unstructured prose.
