Numerous old manuscripts had presented art of earth having two binary stars--perhaps suggesting that the ancients had known something that we don't. For instance, the 'Voynich Manuscript' (1400's) had illustrated a binary sun system on several of its pages. Jump down the rabbit hole with us on discovering the meaning of these two suns. All of our books first present a ton of solid evidence on the rebus picture puzzles and then freely attempt to unearth the meaning of those secrets through some rather grandiloquent theories. Fair warning, this particular rabbit hole goes even deeper than the others.
Want to decode the encoded 'Voynich Manuscript'? This book delivers answers--and adds a unique spin on the illustrations of the two suns. It is a great picture-based capsule summary overview of the evidence of the translation of the encoded 'Voynich Manuscript.'
Had there been rebus picture word puzzles in the artwork of the 'Voynich Manuscript' suggesting that our sun has a binary twin? ...

This book summarizes the results of 3 years of agricultural and forestry reconstructive efforts and applied research conducted directly in the affected areas of Fukushima following the Great East Japan Earthquake. It describes fast and effective revival methods and technologies from tsunami and radiation damages, demonstrated through the collaborative efforts of researchers, students, local farmers, forest owners, and municipalities gathered under the Tokyo University of Agriculture East Japan Assistance Project. Consisting of four parts, the first part of the book provides an overview of the damage and measures taken to overcome them by the local municipalities and the Tokyo University of Agriculture. The second part presents data and results of agricultural recovery from the tsunami -- for example, monitoring systems, reconstruction models, and convenient, low-cost methods developed for the restoration of tsunami-damaged paddy fields. The third part focuses on recovery from ...

This open access volume is the first comprehensive assessment of the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region. It comprises important scientific research on the social, economic, and environmental pillars of sustainable mountain development and will serve as a basis for evidence-based decision-making to safeguard the environment and advance people's well-being. The compiled content is based on the collective knowledge of over 300 leading researchers, experts and policymakers, brought together by the Hindu Kush Himalayan Monitoring and Assessment Programme (HIMAP) under the coordination of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). This assessment was conducted between 2013 and 2017 as the first of a series of monitoring and assessment reports, under the guidance of the HIMAP Steering Committee: Eklabya Sharma (ICIMOD), Atiq Raman (Bangladesh), Yuba Raj Khatiwada (Nepal), Linxiu Zhang (China), Surendra Pratap Singh (India), Tandong Yao (China) and David Molden ...

Lewis Carroll wrote several mathematics books. He was mainly interested in using logic diagrams as a pedagogical tool. Symbolic Logic, first published in 1896, contains literally dozens of puzzles. He believed heartily that children would enjoy learning mathematics if they could be enticed by amusing stories and puzzles. The Game of Logic, published in 1897, was intended to teach logic to children. His "game" consisted of a card with two diagrams, together with a set of counters, five grey and four red. The two diagrams were Carroll's version of a two-set and a three-set Venn diagram. A manuscript of a brief lecture Lewis Carroll once gave, Feeding the Mind, discusses the importance of not only feeding the body, but also the mind. Carroll wittily puts forth connections between the diet of the body and mind, and gives helpful tips on how to best digest knowledge in the brain. This essay was originally printed in 1907.
Lewis Carroll ((1832-1898) is best known as the author of Alice in ...

This is one of the first books on a newly emerging field of discrete differential geometry and an excellent way to access this exciting area. It surveys the fascinating connections between discrete models in differential geometry and complex analysis, integrable systems and applications in computer graphics.
The authors take a closer look at discrete models in differential
geometry and dynamical systems. Their curves are polygonal, surfaces
are made from triangles and quadrilaterals, and time is discrete.
Nevertheless, the difference between the corresponding smooth curves,
surfaces and classical dynamical systems with continuous time can hardly be seen. This is the paradigm of structure-preserving discretizations. Current advances in this field are stimulated to a large extent by its relevance for computer graphics and mathematical physics. This book is written by specialists working together on a common research project. It is about differential geometry and dynamical ...

This book presents 20 peer-reviewed chapters on current aspects of derivatives markets and derivative pricing. The contributions, written by leading researchers in the field as well as experienced authors from the financial industry, present the state of the art in:
? Modeling counterparty credit risk: credit valuation adjustment, debit valuation adjustment, funding valuation adjustment, and wrong way risk.
? Pricing and hedging in fixed-income markets and multi-curve interest-rate modeling.
? Recent developments concerning contingent convertible bonds, the measuring of basis spreads, and the modeling of implied correlations.
The recent financial crisis has cast tremendous doubts on the classical view on derivative pricing. Now, counterparty credit risk and liquidity issues are integral aspects of a prudent valuation procedure and the reference interest rates are represented by a multitude of curves according to their different periods and maturities.
A panel discussion included ...

This is the FAA's primary pilot resource for instrument flight rules and training. It (IFR) covers everything pertinent to operating an aircraft, both in instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) and without reference to outside visuals, relying solely on the information gleaned from the cockpit. Information applies to both analog and electronic flight displays, and is organized into separate coverage of the traditional and pictorial displays.
Instrument Flying Handbook includes chapters on national airspace system, the air traffic control system, human factors, aerodynamics, flight instruments, flight maneuvers for IFR operations, navigation, emergency operations, as well as helicopter operations and more. Advanced systems are covered, including flight management systems, the primary flight display (PFD) and multi-function display (MFD), synthetic vision, and traffic advisory systems. Instrument clearance shorthand is discussed, and an instrument training lesson guide is ...
