Bobby was born with a melody in his heart and the right words in his soul. He might not have followed convention and become a hip hop singer, or even a blues singer, but his heart was in country music. So Bobby Saxton is the Black male lead singer of a country music band that is still looking for a good name.
Mindy is tiny, blonde and beautiful. She also knows how to get things done. Bobby has liked Mindy for years, from the time she was in high school. How will Bobby and Mindy, and their budding relationship, deal with all these changes? Bobby already finds that word of his talent has got out. Women are ...
Probably the most famous warriors in all of history were the Samurai. They lived in Japan centuries ago and were both feared and respected. What many people never realised was that there existed in the animal kingdom Samurai warriors of great skill and prowess, easily rivalling those of their human counterparts. One such warrior was called Cougarsamurai. Throughout his travels he encountered many friends and adversaries, all of whom he treated with the same respect and fairness. These short stories, many of which are taken from true accounts in ancient Japanese history, chronicle the travels of Cougarsamurai and provide insights into the lessons he learned along the way.
These are the Complete Cougarsamurai Chronicles - Books 1-6

"It was snowing. A northwester was rushing over the mountains. As the storm wind shifted a few points west and east, the mountains cut it away, so that one valley lay in a lull of quiet air, with the snow dropping in perpendicular lines; or else the mountains caught the wind in a funnel and poured a venomous blast, in which the snow hardened and became cold teeth. The two men lying in a covert saw Skinner Mountain, due south of them, withdraw into the mist of white and again jump out at them, blocking half the sky. The weather and the sudden appearances of Mount Skinner troubled Lou Alp" (The Man Who Forgot Christmas).

Divorce can be murder!
From award-winning author Paula Darnell comes this fast paced historical mystery.
Never guessing that their very lives might be in danger, well-to-do women come from all over the country to stay at guest ranches around Reno to establish the six weeks' residency required for a quickie Nevada divorce in 1955.
When a Circle E Ranch guest dies after her Cadillac plunges off Mount Rose Highway, a mountain road between Lake Tahoe and Reno, Washoe County Deputy Sheriff Ben Cameron is assigned to investigate the accident. His inquiries lead him to question everyone at the Circle E, where he meets Mary, an attractive prospective divorcée from New York.
Unfortunately, Mary soon has an accident of her own. In the meantime, Ben's case takes a turn as twisty as the Mount Rose Highway, and when Mary suffers a second accident, he figures that someone is out to get her. Unless Ben can discover who's targeting the out-of-towners, some of them won't live long enough to ...
The Bible is an honest Book, so it does not try to protect the guilty person or sugarcoat his or her story. The Bible also does not try to distort or exaggerate the truth to advance the Lord's agenda in the earth. For those reasons, a person can critically examine Bible characters, trust what he or she is reading, and learn very much about God, His Word, and His Principles for living.
For convenience and ease of use, the titles of all of the devotions in this book begin with the Bible character's name. That means that a reader can look up his or her favorite Bible character in the Index by name and quickly locate all of the devotions that have been written about that person. The Index also contains a complete list of every Bible passage that has been referenced, so a reader can easily view those by looking under Bible Verse References.
While an obvious attempt has not been made to match certain devotions to certain dates, the devotions between December 19th and December 25th are ...

A time when entertainment was found in everyday life and the eccentricities of other people. But even in this hidden corner of yesteryear a little intrigue and mystery occasionally intrudes.

The following is a brief synopsis of The Great Path to Nowhere.
Given the reality of the stupendously large universe that we live in, it is one of the most peculiar facts of our existence that we insist, as individuals, upon our own importance. Logically, it's easy to see that we overestimate our importance and continuously give significance to things that are essentially trivial. I'm sure almost everyone will agree that in a million years, the thoughts, actions, or feelings that we have today will have no relevance whatsoever. But we live our lives as if they do.
Why? Why are we so obsessed with our own importance and the importance of those people, events, and desires that populate our existence? To find an answer to this question, we have to examine the ego, that part of the thought process that calls itself "I." It is impossible to understand the ego without understanding the nature of thought because the ego arises out of thought. It is not that the ego came first and produced ...

Carl Tanzler, or sometimes Count Carl von Cosel (February 8, 1877 - July 3, 1952), was a German-born bacteriologist at the Marine-Hospital Service in Key West, Florida. He developed an obsession for a young Cuban-American tuberculosis patient, Elena "Helen" Milagro de Hoyos (July 31, 1909 - October 25, 1931), that carried on well after the disease had caused her death. In 1933, almost two years after her death, Tanzler removed Hoyos' body from its tomb, and lived with the corpse at his home for seven years until its discovery by Hoyos' relatives and authorities in 1940.

In the Western philosophy tradition, Nietzsche's writings have been described as the unique case of free revolutionary thought, that is, revolutionary in its structure and problems, although not tied to any revolutionary project. Some prominent elements of his philosophy include his genealogical critique of religion and Christian morality; the related theory of master-slave morality; the characterization of the human subject as the expression of competing wills, collectively understood as the will to ...

Initially my book tells how a life can be changed by the power of love and the nature and source of true happiness. The book then discusses two main themes, firstly how greater global economic stability could be achieved by much-needed reforms to the present banking system, and secondly how our general health depends more than anything else on the quality of our relationships, which need to be based as often as possible on the love which comes to most of us during our teens. Both subjects are discussed in detail in logical terms based on the author's knowledge and personal experience of life, from 1939 to the present day - a period which has seen major social changes in many countries following the trauma of the 2nd World War - changes which have materially improved many lives, but not necessarily their general happiness, which the author suggests depends more on how well we are loved, especially by our partner in life, than on how well we succeed in the quest for money and social ...

As World War II nears its end, the last elements of the German Army struggle to survive. The Germans know the war is lost and for the soldiers on the ground, it is pure hell.
It is tough for the men, and tougher for the leaders. Hemmed in by Nazi SS units waiting to arrest or shoot retreating troops on one side, while advancing American troops advance mercilessly on the other, the men pray they must only endure the freezing weather of the last days. And that their supplies won't run out. And that they won't lose the honor and dignity they've spent years creating.
"Soldier On" is a short story that explores the mental struggles faced by every man who's ever carried a rifle. It's also both enjoyable and inspiring. And it's finally a story that teaches some great leadership lessons: maintaining high standards, keeping your composure, never giving up. In short, "Soldier On" is a hell of a story.
