Keith and Flea move fifteen years into their futures. They face challenges using learned wisdom and compassion during the rapidly-changing '60's & '70's. Two best friends leave a West Virginia coal town to pursue their careers. A Texas dairy farmer's life lessons and unexpected gifts set them on the right course. Will they apply Chet's teachings? Will fame or fortune shift them from their paths? Will they succeed? Keith and Flea know what they want, but will they be obedient to their desires? This is the final book of The McComas Trilogy, a historical novel that follows 'If Bullfrogs Had Wings' (Book 1) and 'Out of the Rough' (Book 2). The completion of this trilogy was bittersweet for me. I knew once it was finished that these two characters and the movie I've been watching in my mind would end. I'll never forget them and what I learned. These two fellows truly wrote this series. So now, I turn them over to my readers and trust they will enjoy and learn from Keith and Flea. "Thank you for sharing your time to read my three favorite stories. I'd appreciate an honest review on Amazon, if you'd be so kind. Keep smilin'... " Phyllis's 5-star review on Amazon: What a delicious treat! Lee Carey strikes again! From the beginning you are drawn into this wonderful story of two young men with integrity, grit and a hard yet smart working persona. It is such a delight to read a book that speaks to the importance of family and friends and loyalty to both. These two young men are brave, talented and courageous. I didn't want it to end! This author takes your right to the heart of the characters that he is creating and this 3rd book in the wonderful trilogy of Keith and Flea. There is no shortage of suspense regarding the outcome of their journeys! Lee has the skill to craft a great book without profanity and that is really a treat! I loved this book and the entire trilogy! Give yourself a gift of the whole set because you are going to want to know how it all works out for ...

The last Iceni by Ronald Haines (Haines Communications) 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 15 minutes ago

The epic story of the Roman invasion of Britannia, the battles, the burning of Londinium, the rise and fall of Boudica, and the great fire of Rome, told through a fast moving historical adventure romance novel. Celtic warrior princess Ceridwen's doubts about her prescribed future to marry Donogh and become queen of the Ordovices are underscored by meeting Marek, an Egyptian serving as an officer with the Roman fourteenth legion. While from vastly different cultures, Ceridwen and Marek share the same ideologies and are uniquely able to meet each others darkest desires. A perfect match, they plan for an idyllic life together once Marek's time in the army is up. Political change has suddenly put them in opposition, however. The emperor Claudius, who advocated for independent client kingdoms, is assassinated and replaced by Nero who declares the Iceni lands a Roman province. The Iceni queen Boudica, brutalized by Roman soldiers when she resists the takeover, calls her tribe to arms, annihilates the Roman ninth legion and razes the Roman city of Londinium killing all 70,000 inhabitants. All that stands in the way of finally driving the Romans out of Britannia is Marek and the overwhelmingly outnumbered fourteenth legion. Over 200,000 Iceni and Romans die in the ensuing battle and each believing the other did not survive; both Ceridwen and Marek are so overcome by loss that they become driven by blinding anger and the need for vengeance. Sustained for so long by their rage, what will they do when circumstances bring them face to face once again as opponents in the Roman arena? Will Ceridwen fight to reclaim her freedom as undefeated gladiatrix or will she remember Llyn's prophecy from so long ago when faced with that crucial moment?

The Five Judas Coins by ROBERT MITCHELL 4.3 Stars (18 Reviews)    Price verified 15 hours ago

Warsaw 1943. The Germans have ordered the Jews to leave the ghetto. The Rabbi fears for the coins, five of the thirteen pieces of silver given to Judas. He takes the small ivory box from its hiding place and removes the coins, and replaces the box, hoping it will satisfy the looting which will take place. For almost two thousand years those five silver coins have been held by a succession of Jewish custodians. The Rabbi knows he will be one of the first to die once they reach Auschwitz. But the coins must be saved. He entrusts them to Misha. The SS learn of the coins. They have found the Rabbi's box. They know that the five coins are in the camp. Hitler wants their religious magic to help him win the war. Misha knows they will connect him with the Rabbi and so he passes the coins on to another. Life is short in the camp and they soon pass through a succession of holders until one of them, Peter, hides them in a salt mine he has been working in as slave labour. He passes the secret of the coins to two others, giving each of them a map carved on a piece of bone, making them pledge that whenever their number is reduced to two, another will be brought into the pact. None of the original three survive, but as their numbers dwindle in the concentration camp, they pass the secret and the bone-maps to others. Henri, a part Catholic part Jew, is one of the two who are the last in line as the Russian army closes in on the camp. The other is Val, a Russian Jew. Henri escapes from the Germans as the Jews are being force-marched to Germany. Val manages to remain in the camp. After a week hiding from Russians and Germans alike, Henri retrieves the coins and finds another hiding place before making his way home to France, but makes no map. Months later Val finds Henri and demands the coins. There is a fight. Henri is stabbed and dies without revealing the coins hiding place. Seventy years later, featuring in a television documentary on wartime looting, it is the ivory box which ...
