Torah: The Five Books of Moses by Go Fish Ministries Inc (Go Fish Ministries, Inc.) 4.1 Stars (6 Reviews)    Price verified 42 minutes ago

This Go Fish Ministries publication is a paraphrase of the Torah. Its main purpose is to present a simplified version to those who have difficulty understanding more traditional ones, especially children and teens. My inspiration was to give my own children a more understandable, easier to read text, and one that would encourage them and other young people to read the Word of God. This version is dedicated to the nation of Israel and the Jewish people - God's chosen people. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and victory over evil for Israel.

My Daily Devotions for Facebook (Volume 1) by James Thomas Lee Jr 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 23 minutes ago

To date, I have written four complete daily devotion books. The first one was a general topic devotion book that contains a single devotion for each class that I took at Liberty University when pursuing a Graduate degree in Bible and Pastoral Counseling. The second devotion book contains a daily devotion for many of the people who are talked about in the Bible. So it is a Bible character devotion book. The third devotion book is a daily devotion for every verse in the book of Proverbs. The fascinating thing about that book is that the numerical dates in the devotion book match up with the chapter numbers in the book of Proverbs. Finally, the fourth devotion book is a devotion on the many psalms in the book of Psalms. So for this Facebook (Volume 1) devotion book, I have taken devotions from each of those four devotion books to create this book that will be used for posting daily devotions on Facebook. As such, eighty-eight devotions are from the general topic devotion book. Ninety have been taken from the Bible character devotion book. Sixty-eight are from the Proverbs devotion book. One hundred and eighteen are from the Psalms devotion book. The remaining two are new and not from any of the four books. Now before concluding this Introduction, there is still one more important thing to share. It is that from a spiritual perspective, one might say that all people can be divided into the three groupings of J-O-Y, Y-O-J, or just Y. That being the case, it is the belief of this author that the most content and most satisfied people in all the world are the J-O-Y's. The least content and least satisfied are the Y-O-J's. The unhappiest and most miserable individuals are the Y's. So who are the J-O-Y's, the Y-O-J's, and the Y's? They are the individuals whom Jesus identified in Matthew 22:37-39. Those verses say, "... Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second ...

CAKEWALK: A Novel (The Cake Series) by Douglas Bell (Bumbershoot Press) 4.3 Stars (26 Reviews)    Price verified 5 hours ago

"Your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. Yes, I gave this book a six-star rating out of a possible five. Where to even begin with how much I loved this book." Goodreads Reviewer, Transgender Bookworm Die-hard traditional Texas is the backdrop where success and nonconformity cannot coexist for Bryan Hicks, an African-American divorced father of two kids, Lindsey, the athletic golden child, and Lance, the unorthodox queer thespian. Bryan's mother loves bragging to her high-society girlfriends about Bryan's accomplishments and promotion to VP at a large multinational oil/gas company. Bryan vigorously steers clear of conversations with his mother about who he is dating because Bryan has been secretly dating Nadia, a transgender woman. Cakewalk is contemporary fiction based on Douglas Bell's past experiences. Bell speaks from an African-American heteronormative (privileged) cisgender voice to candidly expose the trauma of transphobia and homophobia. Bell wants to humanize the struggle of trans women to live on their terms. Bell asks us to believe in ourselves, trust in ourselves, and don't let society define who you are. There is enough courage within you to be the person you want to be. Editorial Reviews Goodreads Reviewer, Erikka I must say this book absolutely had me by the first chapter. Each character represented someone i have have met or known and truly had me hooked. The fact that as I dove deeper into each page it was as if I was watching a movie of so many lives play out right before me. This up and coming author has truly snatched my attention and made me reflect on the perspectives of others as well as the symbolism throughout this read. If you want to laugh, cry, feel anger, empathy, and reflection on how and who you are as well as get a little hot and heavy this is definitely the right book for you. Step into a world you may have never known existed and watch the similarities of what all humans long for no matter the pronoun.

The Final Catastrophic Events on Earth: Are You Ready? by Kerry Schoonmaker 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 2 hours ago

Understanding Biblical Prophecies by allowing the Bible to interpret itself, instead of the false private speculative interpretations utilized throughout Christianity today, is extremely important as we approach the end of this world. When Jesus came to earth during the first century there were a lot of false prophecies floating around Jerusalem concerning the Messiah and how He would come to this planet. Through those private speculative interpretations, the majority of the Jewish people were led to believe that He would come to earth as a king to set up His kingdom and rule the Romans. The leaders wanted the overthrow of the Roman government and applied prophecies that actually pertained to a later coming of Christ to His first coming to establish this prophetic belief. When Jesus didn't come as the Jewish leadership expected, the vast majority of the Jewish people rejected Jesus as the Messiah and then had the Romans crucify their own Savior, all due to incorrect interpretation of Bible prophecy. Out of the thousands that knew about Him and learned of Him there were only 120 people in the upper room at Pentecost that followed Him due to what would today be called denominational prejudice. The overwhelming majority followed the false prophecies promoted by the Jewish leadership. In fact, the vast majority have never been correct. Think of the times of Noah, Lot, Elijah, Moses, Daniel, Ezekiel, Jonah, etc. This same scenario will take place as Jesus comes the second time. To a great extent the majority will be incorrect, will have followed the false prophecies of their leaders, and lost their way. We therefore must be really careful with Bible prophecy to make sure it is interpreted correctly as we approach the end of this world. The correct interpretation comes from the Bible and the Bible only, not private speculative interpretations. As we allow the Bible to interpret itself, we will come to the correct conclusions regarding the questions that are asked ...

The Judaisms of Jesus’ Followers: An Introduction to Early Christianity in its Jewish Context by Dr. Juan Marcos Bejarano-Gutierrez (Yaron Publishing) 4.2 Stars (190 Reviews)    Price verified 3 hours ago

The Jewish sect which ascribed Jesus the title of Messiah was eventually transformed into a non-Jewish movement wholly separated from its Jewish context. The transformation was not instantaneous, and there were deviating or at the least parallel streams of Jesus supporters early on. A critical mistake which has been made, in my opinion, is the assumption that the Jesus movement was uniform even among its early Jewish followers. Analyzing the original movement(s) in the first centuries of the Common Era can reveal how the schism between Judaism and Christianity evolved. This book explores the fascinating world of Jewish life in the Second Temple Era and the Jewish groups that endorsed Jesus' messianic claims.

World War S: The Silence Begins (World War Spiritual Book 1) by Stephen Paul Thomas (Articity Publishing) 3.8 Stars (81 Reviews)    Price verified 8 hours ago

The world stands on the brink of another worldwide economic and social crisis. People look for understanding through occult practices, so that mediums and fortunetellers have become wildly successful in helping them escape reality. There are no more churches, and established religion is a thing of the past. Christians must now gather in secret. In this fragile era emerges Josh Heartley, a young boy with astounding prophetic abilities. Though Josh had a heart transplant in his early years, it doesn't slow him down. He is a light for everyone around him, and he can often tell future events with supernatural clarity. During an accident, Josh has a Near Death Experience and finds himself in the middle of a spiritual battle that goes back more than two thousand years. Dr Julie Bond, conducting a research study involving Josh, hopes to unlock the secret behind NDEs and their ties to the human soul. She soon suspects the key lies within this very special boy. Stephen Paul Thomas's thrilling novel is based on shocking real-world events of a thousand-years-long demonic occupation told through exciting storylines, unexpected twists, and many historical examples. If you read Frank Peretti's This Present Darkness, you will find this more eyeopening and shocking... all who would like to know more about the unseen battle must read this series! "Thomas (Cluster, 2015) deftly paints a world in which Christians have been backed into a corner by the belief systems of other cultures -- like that of Linda's ancestral village in Central America -- and by demons. These demons, including Karnelo, the "lust-addict spirit," have been possessing people for hundreds of years, using human tools to instigate everything from the Inquisition to organized pedophilia. Thomas' prose presents the complex story evocatively, as in the line "Linda's chest rhythmically lifted and sank, like water in the mighty ocean, which kept its secrets in the dark deep." - Kirkus Review

Angels Give a Glimpse through All Time: Past-life readings told from 1970-1989 (Book with Wings 2) by Aka spiritual messengers of God Price verified 2 hours ago

"If you know where you have been you shall know where you are going." July 17, 1971, the spiritual messengers of God, Aka, said: "For all things that have been before shall be again. "For remember, we are not great. We are here for one purpose, that purpose is to prepare a way that God's children may return back to their many mansions. And for this to be done, we must prepare a way for the coming of the Messiah. "There are many things thy do not understand. Be not afraid to ask, and this knowledge shall be given unto thee." The spiritual messengers of God, Aka, see the paths of many who ask for their guidance from 1970 to 1989. As they make this known to them and give healing of the body, the soul and the spirit, it is to help individuals grow closer to our Father, in whose "image and likeness" we were created in the beginning. In these life readings, the angels describe highlights of selected lifetimes. By reminding a person of these times, the hope is that the individual will learn or remember deep within, and then better see a healthy direction he or she can choose to go now. Each soul has his or her unique path. We are given free choice by our Creator. "Our Father has many mansions," it is said. This is why God's spiritual messengers lovingly offer guidamce to those who ask, because each soul is precious to our Father. He loves us so. As we glimpse many lifetimes through the eyes of our Father's spiritual messengers, we also see part of mankind's ancient history. We learn of many places, in many times - even since the beginning. On April 13, 1981, Aka, spoke of their purpose in coming and how they gave this knowledge: "We have told you a story of a time, of a place. It is much as you read the Akashic records; it is as though the wind has taken time, and yet, it never ends. We told you of the times when we had touched your earth and the heavens above, and the many planets and galaxies. We have even told you when we walked the earth. But most important, we have ...

Acts of the Apostles: A Greek Latin and English Parallel Text: Being an Aid for Adults to the Easier Learning of the Classical Languages (Greek and ... by Sean Gabb (Centre for Ancient Studies) Price verified 9 hours ago

This trilingual text of the Acts of the Apostles gives the original Greek, plus the Latin translation revised by St Jerome and the English of the Authorised Version. They are placed side by side, so that any passage in one language can be directly compared with one or both of the other two. The book is intended in part to assist students of The Bible. It is mainly intended, though, to help students who wish to learn Latin or Greek or both. If you want to learn Latin, you should first get hold of the shortest Latin grammar you can find. You must read through this, to get an overview. Do not try memorise the declensions and conjugations. The most you need is a vague awareness of how things like accusative cases and present participles look, and enough of an overview to know where to look if the English is not clear enough as a key to the grammar of the Latin. It is only when you start looking up particular issues that you should pay attention to things like ablative absolutes and subjunctives. Do not try in advance to learn the grammar. It is to be consulted not committed to memory. You now begin with 1:1 -- "primum quidem sermonem feci de omnibus o Theophile quae coepit Iesus facere et docere." Read it aloud so that you can familiarise yourself with the sound of the language. You then turn to the English -- "The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach." You puzzle out the Latin. "Primum" and "sermonem" you can guess from their English derivatives mean "former treatise." You may recall from your skimming of the grammar that nouns ending in m are likely to be direct objects. "Feci" seems to correspond with "have I made." "Omnibus" is used in English to mean the whole of something, and so probably means "all." "O Theophile" explains itself, though you may look in your grammar to confirm that it is a vocative case -- that is, a form showing that someone is being spoken to. And so you continue, corresponding Latin to ...

Communion with God: In Modern, Updated English by John Owen 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 8 hours ago

Communion with God by John Owen is a profound theological work that delves into the nature of the relationship between God and man. We have updated this timeless work into modern, updated English so you can understand exactly what John Owen wrote hundreds of years ago. The book is centered around the concept of communion with God, which Owen defines as a mutual sharing or exchange of spiritual goods and blessings. This communion, according to Owen, is not simply a general fellowship with God, but rather a distinct and personal relationship with each person of the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In the first part of the book, Owen discusses the communion that believers have with God the Father. He emphasizes the Father's love as the source of all spiritual blessings. He also explores the believer's appropriate response to the Father's love, which includes love, delight, and obedience. The second part of the book focuses on the communion that believers have with Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Owen talks about the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is manifested in His taking on human nature, His obedience, His death, and His intercession for believers. The believer's response to Christ's grace, according to Owen, should be faith and trust, love, and obedience. In the third part, Owen delves into the communion that believers have with the Holy Spirit. He discusses the various operations of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers, including His work of regeneration, sanctification, and comfort. The believer's response to the Spirit's work, Owen suggests, should be obedience and submission, love, and worship.About the Author John Owen, the author of Communion with God, was a prominent theologian and religious leader in 17th century England. He served as chaplain to Oliver Cromwell, and later as dean and vice-chancellor of Christ Church, Oxford. Owen is widely recognized as one of the greatest theologians in the history of the English-speaking ...

Lie If You Can: A Mystery of the Mind Novel by Greg Peterson 4.3 Stars (49 Reviews)    Price verified 8 hours ago

Julie Swanson is a single, hardworking professor, admired by her University of Minnesota students. She awakes in a hospital following a brutal beating and begins to experience strange déjà vu-like sensations. She seeks answers from renown neuroscientist Karl Undset who compares her unusual episodes to a well-established scientific condition known as dual processing. Her injury has resulted in a new ability to sense elevated autonomic indicators present in certain voice patterns, those that change under stress. She's processing these indicators in the same way a polygraph detects elevated levels of blood pressure, skin conductivity, and heart rate. Julie, in effect, has become a lie detector. She and her brain surgeon become romantically involved and together they devise a plan to use her 'sixth sense' to find her attacker.

The Spiritual Discipline of Meditation: A Daily Devotion in the Scriptures by Scott Doherty 4.6 Stars (19 Reviews)    Price verified 4 hours ago

Today, when we hear the word meditation we immediately associate the term with a New Age practice. Sadly, the spiritual discipline of meditating on the Scriptures has become uncommon among Christians while in contrast the blending of eastern mysticism with mainstream Christian thought has risen to prominence. True, biblical meditation on the Scriptures has been replaced with a self-centered and mystic spirituality. Overall this spiritual practice has faded with the Puritans. Disciplined meditation, understood in a biblical and meaningful way, brings blessing, joy, and spiritual growth. Many Christians read the Bible each day but don't meditate on it. A lack of meditation often results in lack of profit gained from devotions. Many times during devotions, without meditation, the Christian finishes in the same condition in which he started. This book was written with two purposes in mind. First, to teach people how to meditate on the Scriptures in a meaningful way, after the pattern of the Puritans. Second, a daily devotional format is purposefully used so readers will begin to discipline themselves in meditating on one passage of Scripture each day. Rather than just write about the Puritan form of meditation, this book provides practice through meaningful daily devotions. By the end of the book, after meditating for an entire year, the reader will be trained in one of the most important spiritual disciplines. The purpose of this book is to recover the lost spiritual discipline of meditation.

Heart and Soul: Recon and Rangers, book 2 by Allen Ballantine 5.0 Stars (2 Reviews)    Price verified 5 hours ago

The elven nation of Gallnor has survived the initial invasion on two fronts by their neighbors, Krazzar and Efristan, thanks mainly to the efforts of two elite groups. Recon and Rangers, two elite groups, one human and the other elves have worked together to stop the onslaught. Now, Major Maxwell Lowe, commander of recon team nine is heading back to the Isles to explain his actions in rescuing ranger scout Allynna Raynore. After fighting overwhelming odds on the battlefield, Max and Allynna will find that they have other battles to fight. President Bailey wants to know what happened, and why Max attacked an orcish squad inside their country and exactly what he was doing in Gallnor. Aside from answering to the president, there's going to be inquiries from both the military, and political opponents of the president into whether Max should be charged and prosecuted. For Allynna, she has to brace herself for life in the human island nation and reaction from its people to their marriage, most notably, Max's family. When the tide of war turns to Gallnor's favor, President Bailey offers to mediate an agreement to end the war, and asks Max and Allynna to deliver his proposal to the elves. A proposal that also includes opening peaceful relations between their countries and a mutual defense pact. With a possible peace between humans and elves, Max and Allynna's marriage becomes a symbol that the two races can get along together. But there are those in all countries that oppose this peace and are willing to stop it, and its symbol. The war may be over, but Max and Allynna will discover that the battles to preserve peace can be just as deadly as the battles of war. And to survive, they'll need more than the naxas, the linking of their minds and bodies, but also the naxas of heart and soul.

A "New Age" or "Messianic Age": How to Bring It Into Being by Eric Heubeck 3.5 Stars (5 Reviews)    Price verified 9 hours ago

The Bible is an often obscure, cryptic, and esoteric book -- many religious believers and non-believers can agree on that much. But what if the authors of the Bible were actually expressing opposition to the very obscurity and esotericism of their own writings, in their own writings? Furthermore, what if the ending of the "present age" and the arrival of the "Messianic Age" predicted by the Bible prophets could only ever occur once that entire cryptically symbolic "esoteric" or "prophetical" manner of religious discourse -- one that is found in all traditional religions -- had already been seriously questioned, confronted, and finally repudiated by humanity as a whole? As strange and surprising and paradoxical as these possibilities might sound, in this book Eric Heubeck carefully analyzes the contents of the Bible to reveal a great deal of compelling evidence arguing in favor of just such an hypothesis -- far more than might at first be apparent. As you progress through the book, you will be amazed to watch as the "anti-esotericist message" hidden within Bible prophecy gradually takes shape before your eyes. Summary of Contents Part 1 of 12: The impossibility of any "New Age" or "Messianic Age" ever arriving before humanity has already defeated the Lie Part 2 of 12: The evils of religious esotericism; and the "hidden anti-esotericist message" of the Bible Part 3 of 12: Getting started with anti-esotericist Bible interpretation: The crucially important symbol of "Babel" or "Babylon," and the crucially important theme of a primordial "confusing of language" Part 4 of 12: The recurring theme in the Bible of "two sides" or "two parts"; and its relation to "scripture" and "language" Part 5 of 12: The recurring theme in the Bible of "two sides" or "two parts"; and its relation to "scripture" and "language" (cont'd) Part 6 of 12: The symbolic image of "throwing stones into water": What does it mean? The Curse of 1920 by Gary D. Naler (RTC Quest Publications) 2.8 Stars (21 Reviews)    Price verified 2 hours ago

In 1920, a three-pronged Curse was unleashed upon America and the world, effecting the most dramatic and destructive changes to man since the Garden of Eden. This three-pronged Curse is: the women's rights movement; jazz, rock 'n' roll, and rap; and abortion and euthanasia. The Curse of 1920 chronicles the wholly destructive affects of this Curse, affording conclusive evidence from multiple sources, and critically gets to the very root of our nation's most compelling governmental, social, and religious problems. As this book clearly reveals, the root of this Curse lies in women, the black man, feminized men, the church, and is even rooted 3,726 years before in Abraham. But exposing these problems is only the beginning; for unless we take specific measures to reverse the Curse of 1920, it will continue to destroy us! These measures are clearly laid out here.
