Building Your House On The Word Of God (Life in Christ) by Joan Boney 4.5 Stars (5 Reviews)    Price verified 7 hours ago

Jesus says: Mt. 7... 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. ***** As we build our house on the Word of God, we build on a sure thing. It will not fail. Plans of humans may sound right, but often they fail. Proverbs 14:12... There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. ***** This book helps us to understand developing the power of God through meditating on scripture and doing the Word of God... and continuing to do the Word of God. We also establish what the Word of God says through the Bible, not through the eyes of men, focusing on the scripture themselves to make our decisions. Joan Boney

Christmas Slay Ride: Most Mysterious and Horrific Christmas Day Murders (True Crime Murder Case Compilations Book 2) by Jack Smith 3.8 Stars (201 Reviews)    Price verified 7 hours ago

There's never a good time to die violently, but Christmas tragedies are especially heinous. Download FREE with Kindle Unlimited! Christmas is a time for Peace on Earth and Good Will Toward Men. Holiday bloodshed feels like a sacrilege, but it does happen. Whether by accident or deliberate malice, scores of people have been killed on December 25 or the days surrounding it. This volume contains seven accounts of unnatural deaths that occurred on or around Christmas Day: ? The Ashland Tragedy: On December 24, 1881, three burned corpses were pulled from a house in Ashland, Kentucky. They belonged to teenagers Robert Gibbons, Fannie Gibbons, and Emma Carrico, who had all been bludgeoned to death. The girls had also been sexually assaulted. A formerly quiet Kentucky town was plunged into a nightmare fueled by grief and lust for revenge. ? Christmas Eve Combustion: On Christmas Day, 1885, Patrick Rooney and his wife were found dead in their home in Seneca, Illinois. Rooney died from smoke inhalation, caused by his wife's body suddenly bursting into flames. It is an early and sensational case of spontaneous human combustion. ? Delia's Gone: Early on Christmas morning in 1900, fourteen-year-old Moses "Cooney" Houston murdered his lover, Delia Green, who was the same age. Because Georgia had no youth justice system, Cooney Houston was charged as an adult. The senseless crime shocked the citizens of Savannah, Georgia, and inspired songs later recorded by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. ? The Holyhead Horror: On Christmas Day, 1909, a horrific murder took place in North Wales. Gwen-Ellen Jones was killed by her ex-soldier lover, William Murphy, in a manner so depraved that even in an era when domestic violence was commonplace, people were shocked. The murder and subsequent execution of William Murphy are still talked about in Holyhead today. ? Changing of the Guard: Early on the morning of December 26, 1920, New York underworld legend Edward "Monk" Eastman, ...

I Can't Remember Your Name (Amnesia Husband Book 2) by Sally Hull 4.2 Stars (5 Reviews)    Price verified 12 hours ago

This second book in the series of Amnesia Husband can stand alone without book #1 or any books that follow. Due to meningitis-induced amnesia, the detective novelist Roy Anderson believes himself to be the pastor of a struggling church in a small town called Corinth--a town in which no one knows him or his wife LeeAnn--a town they are simply visiting for a short time. He believes that he knows everyone, but simply cannot remember their names. He begins assigning names to them, thinking that his memory is returning--but it is not. Since he has been reading in the Book of Revelation, and since the majority of his "false memories" come from things he reads, he believes that the people at this church are in fact the people to whom the letters of Revelation 2:1-3:22 were written. Being quick to recognize their strengths, weaknesses and sins, he simply calls them by such names as: Ephie Sus, Mrs. Sus, and all the little Susses, after the letter to the church at Ephesus. When he runs into legal problems, he calls for help, asking Jake-Patrick (the young man from Book #1 he believes to be his son-in-law) and Butch-Geoffrey (the elderly man from Book #1 he believes to be his father) for help. Through it all, LeeAnn endeavors to be the kind of wife that brings pleasure to the Lord, meditating on Proverbs 31. This is a comical tale that takes a lighthearted look at the serious subject of trouble in church, allowing the reader to enjoy the story, but at the same time give pause for thought concerning the deeper issues of God's people being one in the Lord and serving Him faithfully, turning from sin, and worshiping the Lord both in the worship service and in daily living, even to the point of forgiving one another.

The Most Terrifying Places on Earth: Searching Through the World's Most Horrifying and Scary Locations by Conrad Bauer 3.7 Stars (85 Reviews)    Price verified 15 hours ago

Prepare to be frightened... very frightened by these extraordinarily scary places most of us probably never knew existed! The world around us is a scary place. With danger lurking around so many corners, the threats we can explain are often easily quantified and dismissed. Rather, it is the unexplainable, the paranormal and the strange which present the biggest threats to our psychological well-being. All across the planet, certain places and buildings have come to represent these abnormal and unexplainable phenomena. From ghosts to genocides, brutal murders to witches' covens, these locations are both hyper specific and universal. In almost every town, village or city, there is often an area where people are wary. A certain building people say is haunted, or a home they know has a particularly gruesome past. People might warn children to stay away, these buildings might form the backbone of some local folklore, or they might actually be condemned and restricted to the public. In these buildings our imaginations run riot and we wonder what could be possibly be lurking down the long, dank and dark corridors. But not all of these places are created equal. In this book, we will examine some of the most terrifying, strange, bizarre, odd and depressing places on earth. These might be haunted homes or the resting place of a murderous maniac. Some have been created by the evils of modern man while others are tributes to ancient and dark mysteries we still struggle to explain. The one thing they share is their ability to chill you to the bone. But as you work through this list, the true extent of humanity's capacity to imagine the horrific should not be underestimated. When you are ready to learn about some of the worst places in the world, like the island of the doll in Mexico, the Paris catacombs, the Hell fire Club in Ireland, the Ridges in the USA and much more... just read on! How to Serve the Lord with Confidence and Enthusiasm by James Thomas Lee Jr Price verified 2 hours ago

This text has been written in response to a question that I was asked at a Wednesday night Bible study at Wallers Baptist Church in Partlow, Virginia. The question which had been asked by the church's pastor had been in regard to the obvious enthusiasm that some of the saints of God seem to have for the Lord's work. The study that evening had been in Acts 13:13 which talks about the Apostle Paul's first Bible-recorded missionary journey. It says, "Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem." So when the company had arrived in Perga, the above verse says that John Mark had returned to Jerusalem. Exactly why he might have gone back is not known for certain. He might have been too afraid to continue since there had already been some opposition to the message that Paul and the others had tried to deliver. He might have felt the Lord leading him home at that particular moment. But the real question that had been posed by the pastor had been why the others had continued the journey since their task had obviously been so dangerous. In answering that question, the model about which this text has been written was developed. The quick answer to the pastor's question is that Paul and his company had had a general desire to do what the Lord had wanted them to do. When they had understood exactly what He had wanted them to do, their general desire had become a specific desire. Then when what the Lord had wanted them to do had been an exact match to their spiritual gifts, their desire had been raised to an even higher level. They had no longer just been doing church work. At that point, they had been serving the Lord with confidence and enthusiasm. Thus, this text has been written to explain how that can occur for any saint of God. The conclusion is that it is possible to not just do work for the Lord. But it is actually possible to serve Him with confidence and enthusiasm. The ...

Crucifixion and Why Jesus Was Crucified by James Thomas Lee Jr 3.8 Stars (4 Reviews)    Price verified 11 hours ago

Some people might think that Easter is about family get-togethers and the Easter Bunny. It is not. Therefore, this text, while focusing primarily on the prophecies of the Prophet Isaiah and especially on those that explain why Jesus was crucified, also discusses prophecies written by other Old Testament prophets. In the first three parts of this text, nine passages from the book of Isaiah will be examined leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus. Those passages are Isaiah 1:18, Isaiah 64:6-7, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6-7, Isaiah 42:1-7, Isaiah 41:27-29, Isaiah 61:1-3, Isaiah 50:4-9, and Isaiah 52:13-15. The idea is that when a person sees and understands them, it will be much easier to understand the First Coming of Jesus as a suffering servant, His death on the cross, and His second coming as a ruling and reigning king. In the fourth part of this text, some of the specific details of what He had suffered for every person by being humiliated, tortured, scourged, and crucified will be examined. That part of this text will take a close look at the fifty-third chapter of the book of Isaiah. Once again, it will become very clear that the Holy Spirit had greatly used Isaiah to share with the world all about Jesus and about His life and death while in human form. After that, the fifth part of this text will share ten things that Jesus had accomplished by His death on the cross. Without a doubt, all human beings have received much by His willingness to suffer and die for all. The final part of this text will try to bring the whole significance of Jesus dying on the cross to a logical conclusion. Obviously that conclusion greatly involves coming to Him by faith to be saved. To be clear, the intent will be to suggest that this existence is not really about this existence at all. That means that living one's life without Jesus is almost like not living at all. But even worse, leaving this life without Him is not very smart. That might sound mean-spirited or harsh. But it is the ...

What God Says About Repentance & Condemnation: Learn what true repentance is and how to overcome condemnation by What God Says Ministries 5.0 Stars (3 Reviews)    Price verified 11 hours ago

Simply put, condemnation spiritually paralyzes a person. Condemnation makes them feel unfit for service, in the Kingdom of God. Condemnation takes away a person's godly boldness. Condemnation takes away a person's godly confidence (to approach God, and the assets of God). Condemnation takes away a person's acceptance of being in right standing with God. God does not want you to be spiritually paralyzed, after becoming saved, via condemnation. Thus the reason why you have to make certain godly moves, to avoid condemnation from taking root, in your life. Once you get saved, you have to know that it is not about what you did (e.g., sin committed). It is about what Jesus did on the cross, for you. What did Jesus do? He made available, salvation, and the precious blood of Jesus (that cleanses, and removes all your sin - all forms and all manifestations of sin). And because of the blood and salvation, you are in right standing with God. And as you are in right standing with God, it is important for you to know that all your sin, has been removed from your profile. And because of that, you are not to be in condemnation, and you are not to be the victim of slander / accusation. And because of that, you are to have a sense of godly confidence, godly boldness, and a godly knowing, that you are fit for service in the Kingdom of God. Why? Because of Jesus, what Jesus did for you on the cross, because of salvation, because of the finished works of Jesus on the cross, because of God's grace, because of the blood of Jesus, because of your faith in Jesus.
