Why do the Heathen Rage? Volume One: Understanding the Causes and Manifestations of Jealousy, Envy, and False friends by Christian Benjamin 4.0 Stars (6 Reviews)    Price verified 2 hours ago

AN INSINCERE AND EVIL FRIEND IS MORE TO BE FEARED THAN A WILD BEAST! What if you discovered that your closest friend was a false friend on an evil assignment to ruin your life? How will you handle that? - An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind - Buddha - True enemies are better than false friends - Matshona Dhliwayo - One good reason to only maintain a small circle of friends is that three out of four murders are committed by people who know the victim - George Carlin "... If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31 "Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish" Isaiah 41:11 "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn... " Isaiah 54:17 Do you remember the Chameleon? Always changing colour? How about wolves in sheep clothing? The essence is Camouflage! To hide their identities and intentions! The activities of false friends are full of deceit which is a result of ENVY and JEALOUSY. They walk into you in a friendly manner and are always with you. They know your history-where you are coming from, your dreams and aspirations. You told them all without knowing they were enemies camouflaging as friends! Solomon gives an insight into what the problem could be. He says: "Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work a man is envied by his neighbor... " Ecclesiastes 4:4 (NKJV) Anytime you begin to excel, they begin to rage. What is their problem? They know you are a star, you must not outshine them! In the Company of Dragonslayers (The Dragonslayers Saga Book 1) by Andrew M. Trauger (Glenhaven Press) 4.4 Stars (9 Reviews)    Price verified 4 hours ago

All Cora wanted was fame. All Cuauhtérroc wanted was revenge. What they got was each other and a motley assortment of hard-scrabble freeblades. And a jail sentence... turns out you can't just burn down a national monument... Book One of a deeply layered eight-part series, In the Company of Dragonslayers chronicles the mis-adventures of ordinary people who must do extraordinary things. It will appeal to lovers of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy, and J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy. After lying to her parents and pursuing a forbidden artifact, Cora O'Banion may never be able to return home. After watching his war-torn jungle home burn, Cuauhtérroc vows to return with vengeance and an army. While nothing alike, the pampered socialite and the wild savage embark together on distinct journeys of self-fulfillment, drawing from each other what they lack in themselves. Among the metaphorical (and literal) debris of their folly, Cora discovers a plot to overthrow the nation of Alikon. Personal goals (and loves) must be cast aside to ensure a nation is saved from the encroachments of ancient evil.

God IS NOT Cruel!: An In-depth Analysis of God's Apparent Acts of Cruelty Found in the Bible by Michael Caputo 4.0 Stars (11 Reviews)    Price verified 5 hours ago

This work was written to increase the reader's understanding and appreciation of God's character, His love for righteousness, His great wisdom and His unending love. Above all, it is meant to strengthen the reader's faith and trust in the Almighty, so that he/she may turn to Him with total assurance in the fact that He is a Father who is always fair, just, and loving. To accomplish this aim, this book will analyze many major events that have been used by atheists and others as evidence of God's alleged cruelty; but it will do so in a way that is both original and unusual. Each analysis will begin with the thought-provoking, hypothetical question, "What if God... ?" Afterwards every event will be explored in depth. Lastly, the author will address what might have happened if God had handled each event differently. In this work the reader will clearly see that God's actions are invariably wise, fair and just. No matter how seemingly cruel or unjustified, every one of his interventions, when looked at closely, reveals great love, patience, wisdom and justice. Michael Caputo Author of the award-winning, God Seen Through the Eyes of the Greatest Minds. COMMENTS FROM READERS "Do you ever talk to people who are very negative about God? If so then this book will give you some great ideas for how to handle this type of criticism. Michael Caputo examines events in the Bible that atheists find most objectionable. Like the flood, etc. I found his arguments to be very logical. He seems to have insight into God's mind that few possess. He takes you step-by-step through the Bible and explains why each event occurred as it did and also explains what would have happened if God had not taken steps to eradicate evil." (R.R. -- Amazon Reader) "Excellently written and doctrinally sound" (Kindle customer) "Great book. This book shows how we should look at God as a judge, that the judgement that happened during Noah, and others time was a weighed, and measure judgement." (Amazon customer)

Crying Out in Today's Wilderness: There Must Be a Voice by Gene Easley 4.4 Stars (5 Reviews)    Price verified 5 hours ago

We must hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. He will speak through vessels that are dedicated to the cause of Christ. The lack of the church hearing from the Spirit comes, in part, from the silent voices of God's servants. We must hear what the Spirit is saying and convey the message to God's people and to the world. The songwriter said, "Stand up, stand up for Jesus, you soldiers of the Cross." We need soldiers again in God's army who are not afraid to lift their voices and to use the Sword of the Spirit to preach this everlasting Gospel. The purpose of this book is both to speak out in today's wilderness and, also, to encourage believers to draw closer to God. In some of the chapters, the reader is being encouraged to become that voice that cries out. In other chapters, the author himself speaks out and gives warnings concerning the day in which we live. Also, the message is one of encouragement to help us on our journey. May "Crying Out in Today's Wilderness" be both uplifting and challenging is our prayer.

Forewarned but Unheeded: Christian Mystery Romance (Ryan Mallardi Private Investigations Book 4) by R Shannon 4.4 Stars (142 Reviews)    Price verified 5 hours ago

REVIEWS: Excellent story. Lots of action, twists and turns. Characters portray a slew of different realistic emotions making them believable and loveable. I enjoyed this series immensely. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review - Gene DESCRIPTION: Private Investigator Ryan Mallardi's premonitions about his client Jean-Francois Lenoir, unfortunately come true. JF, as his friends and family call him, has recently married Tara and he is over the moon in love -- some would even say obsessed with his new wife. Family from Europe have all flown in to celebrate JF's 75th birthday at a catered party that is planned to be held at the family mansion on their horse ranch. One of JF's favorite things to do is squire around showing off his young and beautiful wife. So why would he commit suicide right before the party? Could it have been murder? Maybe the gold-digging rumors about Tara are true or maybe it was her ex-con, ex-boyfriend Anthony? But then again, could it have been one of the visiting relatives who were already counting their inheritance? Will Ryan finally get his romantic life straightened out? Will he finally find love and marriage, which have been eluding him for all this time? SERIES vs. STAND-ALONE EBOOKS: This book contains enough history and background to be read as a standalone book. Each book in the series contains a mystery, crime or psychological drama that has a beginning and ending. They are, of course, best enjoyed reading in order as the character arcs and the family drama play out from book to book. If you like family sagas with a bit of mystery and intrigue, you will enjoy reading the Ryan Mallardi Private Investigator Series in order from start to finish. READER SENSITIVITY: This story includes the subject of two neighborhood dogs who are referenced to having died. There are no graphic descriptions of any abuse or the death of any dogs. So if even hearing about the death of dogs is an issue, please be aware it is ...

A Complete Overview of the Book of Proverbs by James Thomas Lee Jr Price verified 6 hours ago

For anyone who is currently going through some kind of difficulty, the chances are very high that at least one of Solomon's principles in the book of Proverbs has been violated. Solomon was the wisest person of his times. As will be seen in the first chapter of this text, he had asked the Lord for wisdom right after having become the king of Israel. Also as will be seen, the Lord answered his prayer. James 1:5 says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." The book of Proverbs is that answer. It is a practical book. It offers practical advice for how a person should live his or her everyday life. For anyone who lives by its principles, good decision-making and very few bad or unpleasant consequences will probably be the result. Living what this author calls the Proverbs life will give a person a life of few regrets. By contrast, turn away from the simple instructions of Solomon and one can probably expect the opposite. Unlike some of my other writings, this book is an overview rather than a study. Therefore, it should be easy reading. One will probably notice that this book is very long, over four hundred pages. But its length is not because of this author's long, drawn-out discussions. Its length is because the book of Proverbs, itself, is very long. So a person can start at the beginning and have a lot of reading to get to the end. Or a person can take more of a reference book approach and just look at the particular passages of most interest at any given time. The important thing to remember is that there is power in the Word of God. A person can find help in those areas of life where help is needed. A person can find direction whenever a person needs some personal guidance. A person can find encouragement during those times when life seems to be overly difficult. All of those things are in the Bible. But they are also all in the book of Proverbs. So the proverbs will help ...

The Masters Speak, Twenty-Seven Dialogues: The Himalayan Journals by M.G. Hawking 4.2 Stars (15 Reviews)    Price verified 6 hours ago

Since the dawn of history, accounts of a hidden society of enlightened masters dwelling in a remote region of the Himalayas have fascinated and inspired millions. On an extended trek in the inner region of that vast wilderness, in a tiny valley surrounded by ice peaks towering so high as to appear overhead, explorer M.G. Hawking encountered remarkable men and women -- introduced to him as "masters" and "adepts" -- possessed of knowledge virtually unknown to the Western world. The dialogues presented in this book are drawn directly from Hawking's journals and field notes of his extensive conversations with these extraordinary people, allowing readers to experience first-hand the masters' expressions and explanations of the fundamental knowledge, essential principals of consciousness and specific practices that can convey extraordinary perceptive abilities and powers, ones not normally recognized or accepted in the Western world as part of the field of human activity or ability. Author's Note: "The knowledge and practices presented in this book arise directly from the esoteric teachings of profoundly enlightened individuals. If studied with patience and fully integrated into your core belief system, these teachings will lay the foundation necessary to enable you to acquire abilities that most people would say are unbelievable or even impossible. Yet nothing explained in this volume is supernatural or beyond the ability of a properly equipped individual. These abilities are not miracles. Quite the contrary. They do not require any capacities that are not inherent in the human species as a whole, if those capacities are properly recognized and developed. These discourses, then, are intended for those whom a passion for knowledge has instilled an enduring aspiration to see things whole, to pursue perspective, unity, and the deepest understanding of consciousness and our true place and power in the Universe." -- M.G. Hawking Journey into this legendary world and ...

Rancher Baron's Descendants: Book 4 of Baron of the West by Sally Demaray Hull 2.5 Stars (2 Reviews)    Price verified 7 hours ago

The descendants of Madison and Liza Randolph are brought together in this 21st century tale under trying circumstances. It is a world of resets and lost freedom in which people are forced into living off the grid, living in poverty while their rulers live like kings and queens. Personal land is restricted to Tsars, making the original owners mere caretakers. Passports are required for traveling off the land assigned to each person. Transportation is mainly limited to bicycles and walking. Family trees are investigated, enabling the government to herd families into single dwelling homes, giving each nuclear family one room of the home. Hope is failing as people fight to simply survive. Where is God in all of this? Does He even care? This is the question many are asking these days. Widow Sarah Parsons (descendant of Vernie Randolph Haversford) is forced to return from her missionary work in China to her ancestral home: the Crooked M Ranch, whose caretaker is August Randolph (descendant of Frederick Randolph), a widower who is angry with God over the deaths of his wife and daughter. August resents the presence of Sarah and her young son and daughter at the ranch where he has lived all of his life and once owned, but has no choice as the Tsar over Lewis and Clark County has brought them to the ranch to live. When Sarah realizes that she and the children are not wanted, she has nowhere to turn but to God for help and peace -- and hope.

Overcoming Addiction God's Way: How to Gain Deliverance by God's Grace by Thomas Bear 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 6 minutes ago

Jesus said that He came to give abundant life. Does this characterize your life? Or does it seem like you are in bondage to sinful attitudes or behaviors? The Apostle Paul warned that people whose lifestyles are controlled by sexual addiction, substance addiction, habitual overeating, jealousy, hostility or anger will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. (See Galatians 5:19-21.) These behaviors and attitudes directly contradict the life Jesus came to give. Anyone whose life is dominated by them cannot have peace if he is a Christian. The author was at one time addicted to very powerful drugs and sexual sins but has found deliverance through Jesus Christ. He wrote this book to help other Christians gain sustained deliverance through the application of biblical instruction, not based upon theory, but proven through his own experience. It is intentionally brief so it can be read in less than one hour. This book is a helpful counseling tool for pastors and good to give to any Christian who is battling habitual sin.

Spiritual Reflections - Volume 1:A Book of Poetry About Awakening, Enlightenment & Spirituality is book 1 in A Spiritual Trilogy and consists of 250 additional Spiritual free verse poems. Though these poems are Spiritual, they are not religious. Each poem illustrates different aspects of Awakening, Enlightenment & Spirituality. Spirituality is the belief there is a piece of God (a Spirit or Soul) within every life and, because of this, each life is important, equal, and connected. My goal writing the three books of poetry in The Spiritual Trilogy and the four books in The Awakening Tetralogy was to try to Awaken and help others, who are Awakened, more fully understand what Enlightenment is, so their journey through life may be more fully realized. These poems consist of spiritual thoughts, anecdotes, and lessons Ken has learned throughout his journey through life. The Lazarus Journals: Wilderness (In the Beginning Book 1) by David Beeler 4.2 Stars (19 Reviews)    Price verified 8 hours ago

Two thousand years ago the man they called Jesus of Nazareth raised his cousin, Lazarus, from the dead. On that same fateful day, Jesus privately announced that Lazarus would now be a faceless eternal warrior who would fight to protect the weak and innocent until the end of days. For the last 2000 years, Lazarus has been a reluctant but faithful combatant in a never-ending battle against the forces of evil that howl in the darkest corners of the night. He has relentlessly pursued those who encourage slavery, prostitution, and other forms of oppression, and his pursuits have taken him across the globe. Since he's incapable of sleeping, he often takes time to write about his adventures in a journal. Now he's going back over his oldest records and resurrecting memories of the past to write an account of all he has seen and done. In this first book he goes back to the day he heard his cousin Jesus calling him to rise up from the dead and walk out of his tomb. He remembers those first few steps, and the steps that came soon after, as he was called on to lead Jesus and his followers into the Ephraim Wilderness to escape arrest and crucifixion in the days leading up to Passover week. If you're looking for an amazing adventure story that's packed with inspiration, intrigue, and even a little romance then you've come to the right place. Lazarus is an intriguing composite of Robin Hood, Tarzan, the Lone Ranger and Captain America, with a whole lot of Forrest Gump thrown into the mix just for the fun of it. As you read his story you'll soon find yourself trying to whistle a tune, and you may even find yourself chanting, "For the weak... for the innocent... forevermore!" Get ready to step out of the tomb... These are The Lazarus Journals, so let the journey begin!

Seeing Jesus as the Passover Lamb by James Thomas Lee Jr 4.7 Stars (5 Reviews)    Price verified 5 hours ago

This text has been written to show the clear parallels between the children of Israel having been delivered from Egyptian bondage during the offering of the first Passover lamb and the possibility for deliverance from sin and the penalty of sin by the offering of the Passover Lamb, who is Jesus. It begins in the first two chapters by explaining how the children of Israel had become slaves in Egypt. It then shares the birth of Moses, a little bit about him and his life, and how the Lord had used him to bring the children of Israel out of their bondage. Starting in chapter five of this text, Jesus will be shown to be the Passover Lamb, who takes away the sin of the world. That does not mean that everyone is automatically saved. But it does mean that everyone can be saved. In chapter six, the intent will be to show why every person needs the Passover Lamb and then how he or she can receive Him. In chapter seven, the focus will be on how individuals should respond to Jesus as the Passover Lamb. Finally, chapter eight of this text will make five interesting comparisons between Old Testament situations and New Testament living. There is one note, however, to be made with respect to the organization of this text. Something that the reader of this text might find useful is boxes that show the different passages that are being referenced at the times and in the places where they are being referenced. That way, he or she will not have to jump all over the place or get into or out of the scriptures to locate a particular reference. Hopefully that inclusion will help the reader in trying to understand the various events and to also put them into the right context. So it is hoped that that will make this book easier to read and that the Lord will receive the praise, honor, and glory that He rightfully deserves. The simple key to all of life is to give oneself to Jesus, who is the Passover Lamb.

Breaking the Silence: A Revival Cry by Gene Easley 5.0 Stars (4 Reviews)    Price verified 6 minutes ago

A cry for revival (as the subtitle indicates) is the main theme of Breaking the Silence. Much of the church has drifted from what God intended it to be and has lost the presence of God. We need a revival of His presence again in our lives and in the local church. Our prayer is that a fresh outpouring of God's Spirit will again be witnessed in the local church. A quote from Breaking the Silence reads, "The hope for spiritual renewal could be revived in our churches if we would put aside all of our plans and programs and return to the altars of prayer to cry out to God for healing from all our backslidings."
