The Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey: Or, Africa for the Africans by Marcus Garvey (Open Road Media) 4.7 Stars (386 Reviews)    Price verified 3 hours ago

A collection of speeches and essays from the acclaimed Jamaican political activist, publisher, journalist, and orator hailed as "Black Moses." A selection of Marcus Garvey's addresses and writings, The Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey was originally compiled by his widow, Amy Jacques Garvey, to keep track of her husband's opinions and sayings over his career. However, in 1923, she decided to publish the collection and give the public the opportunity to form their own judgments about Garvey, rather than merely go along with what was being said by the media at the time. Marcus Garvey founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League and supported a Pan-African philosophy that became known as Garveyism. Among his aspirations, he hoped to create a unified, self-sufficient Black nation. Although Garvey was ultimately unable to achieve all his goals, the ideas presented in his book are still relevant today.

The Truth about the World by Robert Angus Lamont 3.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 2 hours ago

This book is never going to get a five start rating because it tells you the truth about how we live and treat each other and the world. And as Aristotle told us over 2000 years ago we don't like to hear unpleasant truths. 100 years ago there were less than 2 billion people alive on the planet, now there are nearly 8 billion. Experts tell us there will be 10 billion alive on the planet by 2050. Despite this we continue our greedy and often frivolous use of resources and energy. Those of us with a pampered western industrial lifestyle live with the cult of self and look forward to no end of experiences. We drive huge cars and watch huge TV sets and dream of space tourism and other experiences whilst the poor suffer from the boom and bust of capitalism and the effects of global warming with its record temperatures and rainfalls. What is right? Well, as Nietzsche said that is only a matter of opinion but if our grandchildren are to have any future at all we need to start the debate.

The Metaphysics of Monotheism by Ethan Indigo Smith (The Fourth Initiate Publications) 4.4 Stars (6 Reviews)    Price verified 4 hours ago

The Metaphysics of Monotheism begins with The Spiritual Golden Rule. The Spiritual Golden Rule: Thou shall not force one form of spirituality or religion on others. Do not read this if you are not a seeker. Believers have stopped seeking and this is for seekers. Ethan Indigo Smith began writing this book with a simple yet profound question, "Why is there war and terrorism?" This question led to only more questions, including those in reference to God, spirituality, religion and ultimately monotheism specifically. Political and religious monochromatic belief systems are celebrated and psychologically problematic. The Metaphysics of Monotheism is an exploration of Godliness, spirituality, religion and monotheism in esoteric and psychological terms.

Hillary Clinton: To Destroy a Nation by Will Clark 4.4 Stars (5 Reviews)    Price verified 5 hours ago

Hillary Clinton hopes to replace Obama as President of the United States. And, as with Obama, her goals seem very oriented against fulfilling those hopes and dreams of our Founding Fathers. In fact, her plans and ambitions for America seem in total opposition to those rights and opportunities our Founding Fathers planned for us. They planned personal freedom, individual opportunity for success and achievement, and fulfillment of human aspirations. Her words propose an all-powerful central government that would determine and limit personal dreams and aspirations. The plans, rules and laws she propose are to 'take from the rich and redistribute to the poor.' To the poor, this plan obviously sounds great. Isn't it nice to be promised something without any attachments or requirement to earn it? Just relax and enjoy life and let the government do everything for you. Although the parts sound great to many uninspired people; the results are always destructive. The government takes over stronger and stronger until nothing can be done in a nation without the government's approval or involvement. This original Socialist experiment first began in Russia. It was the 'rise of the proletariat' the working class guided by Vladimir Lenin and his cohorts Carl Marx and others. Soon thereafter, the economy totally collapsed. Many citizens who were promised better lives through those actions died from starvation and pestilence. Many other millions were killed and imprisoned by those in charge; those same leaders who promised a better life for everyone. Although the Words tell us not to invite those who worship Satan 'into our house' as do Muslims, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton continue to praise Islam; and strive to bring more of them into our great nation to further contaminate our society with that blasphemy. The more they invite them into our home, the greater becomes our peril to suffer great and horrible consequences. When there are only a few, they have no choice other ...

The Evolution of Gods: The Scientific Origin of Divinity and Religions by Ajay Kansal 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 25 minutes ago

This book explains why, when and how humanity invented various religions and gods. The process began around 100,000 years ago; during this epoch, many nomadic human bands, all over the world, invented primitive languages and began to decipher each happening around them. Whatever they could not comprehend, their chiefs or priests attributed to some unseen power. At some point in time, we do not know exactly when it happened, humans invented an activity: they began to worship each seen or unseen power, which was beyond their control, but could either harm or help them. They invented almost identical methods of worship, such as folding their hands, bowing, kneeling, floral offering, prayers and sacrifices. For example, anthropologists believe that during the last Ice Age, humans had largely inadequate protection against cold; their survival depended largely upon available sunlight -- something beyond their control. In that scenario, solar worship was a logical outcome. In a similar manner, they found thunder and lightning inexplicable and frightening; gradually, they began to worship the sky as a god. There is enough historical evidence to assert that the ancestors of Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Christians and Muslims worshiped the sun and the sky, before their religions came into practice. The ability to speak and share their ideas helped humans invent many useful devices such as hearths, stitching needles, leathers and footwear. With their aid, they began to lead an easier, healthier and safer life. Consequently, their population began to increase: approximately 10,000 years ago, it exploded to such an extent that they faced a food crisis. Since necessity is the mother of inventions, several human bands invented the technique of cultivation. Farming necessitated them to settle down near fields and ultimately gave rise to homes, villages, cities and civilizations. Gradually, farmers began to face famine caused by droughts and floods. The priests of several places in the ...
