IN TUNE WITH LIFE, LOVE AND THE DIVINE MATRIX by Marie-Anne Bisson 4.8 Stars (13 Reviews)    Price verified 16 minutes ago

Travel along on the author's journey in this memoir, as she discovers her authentic self and you discover yours. There is a commonality with those who have floated on the same river of life and struggled to stay afloat; those who may have been molested, abused, struggled with addictions and with the challenging experiences life provides. There are those who may have questioned their own sanity about their inconceivable experiences with the paranormal. This book guides you through the evolution of human consciousness. It teaches awareness, self-love and love for others, forgiveness, compassion and about releasing fear. The author encourages readers to listen to their inner voice and step out of the box or the paradigm society created, and offers self-help rituals on how to clear and release that which no longer benefits them. She includes personal channels from her multi-dimensional, intergalactic guides she refers to as her Mates and the Galactic Council. In her fifties, Marie-Anne is still evolving. There is no one-pill fix to repair or remedy a lifetime of experiences. Life is a journey without markers. We wouldn't place a child in kindergarten straight into grade 12; they would miss out on all the pertinent knowledge and tools they require. This book describes the spiritual and emotional growth learnt from her personal experiences and through her clients, all which help readers apply this knowledge and bring transformation to their own lives. It explores the power of combined sexual and psychic energy, and sensuality it brings to relationships. Awareness and spirituality saved her; it shifted her perception and helped her cope and embrace this three-dimensional earthly experience within the matrix that we are all interconnected.

The Seven Years’ War: The History and Legacy of the Decisive Global Conflict Between the French and British by Charles River Editors 4.1 Stars (39 Reviews)    Price verified 21 minutes ago

Some historians have called the Seven Years' War the first true world war, and they make a good point. In Europe, an alliance of Great Britain, the German state of Hanover (the ruling house of Britain was from Hanover) and Prussia fought a series of battles against an alliance of France, Austria and Russia, with the occasional involvement of some other European powers such as Sweden and Spain. The war was also fought in many other parts of the world, including in India, West Africa and the Caribbean, where both the French and the British had colonies. In addition to the fighting on land, battles were fought between ships on the high seas, and these naval battles were generally won by the British, who boasted the 18th century's best navy. Ultimately, this globally coordinated war involved five continents and at least 29 states and tribal confederacies, with a casualty toll in the millions and the maps forever altered. The war's origins stemmed from the rivalry between two sets of European powers that found expression in the War of the Austrian Succession of 1740-1748. In 1740, Charles VI was emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, a dysfunctional aggregation of practically independent states corresponding roughly to what is now Germany. He was of the House of Habsburg, as were preceding emperors, but he had no sons, and the Salic Law then in effect in Germany forbade female succession. Charles did not want to see the Habsburg family lands, which were vast, broken up. These lands included Austria, Bohemia, Silesia, Hungary, the Austrian Netherlands (Belgium), Milan, Mantua, Parma, and Tuscany, making the Habsburgs one of the richest and most powerful families in Europe. By an edict known as the Pragmatic Sanction, Charles abolished the Salic Law in Habsburg lands, allowing his daughter, Maria Theresa, to succeed him. However, the emperor was elected by the nine leading princes of Germany, and he could not secure that title for her (Maria Theresa's husband, Francis of ...

A Witch's Brew by Haven Gourlay 4.8 Stars (6 Reviews)    Price verified 21 minutes ago

It all started with a cat, a nightclub, and a witch. I knew that I shouldn't have gone to that damn nightclub. I should have told my best friend, Zion, that my deadline was far too important and that we could go out once my book was done. Now, I'll definitely be missing my deadline because I'm stuck in the nineteenth century. How, you ask? Elizabeth Thorton. That's how. She stole my life and appearance and thrust me back two hundred years to live her life. Now, I have to pretend to cast spells for the unhappy housewives of New Orleans. Except, there is no pretending. Apparently, I'm a witch too. Now I have to learn magick from my new friend Tia Levine while juggling kicking ass with the mysterious and handsome Edwin Kenefick. Pretending to act like I belong in the Victorian era is practically impossible. So impossible that Edwin has seen right through me. His eyes burn straight through me making me feel things that I had never felt before, but coming to terms with my feelings is difficult since he sees Elizabeth's face instead of my own. Trying to act like the perfect Victorian lady while learning magick and being wooed by a vampire is something else. Something that I never once in a million years thought that I would experience. A Witch's Brew is meant for mature readers. It includes swearing, violence, sexual themes, and smoking hot vampires. This is a slow burn romance that ends of a cliffhanger, but fear not, the next chapter of Edwin and Lucinda's story is just a click away.

A bit of a sore throat: Throat cancer and its treatment: a patient's perspective. by Robert Leslie 4.2 Stars (24 Reviews)    Price verified 21 minutes ago

A patient's perspective on throat cancer and its treatment. I don't know your reason for looking at my book, but before going any further, I do hope it's not because you or a person close to you has cancer; it's a horrible disease. My story is about my own experience of stage 4 throat cancer and what I have learned by researching - I'm not an expert; this isn't a medical textbook and my description won't necessarily match how things go for other people, but it should give you some insight and forewarning of what to expect. Some of it was frustrating, some painful and surprisingly other parts which went far better than I expected. This book is what I would have been very happy to read before the start of my encounter with cancer. Despite the serious nature of the topic, I think you'll find plenty of moments which make you laugh. A review 5.0 out of 5 stars Highly readable and humorous medical memoir "I'm giving this book five stars because the subject is so important and because I loved the writing. Yes, it's a medical memoir; but much more than that. One of the first section headings is: 'Warning: this book may contain jokes.' I didn't expect that, given the subject matter, but Mr Leslie does not disappoint. There are many laugh-out-loud moments. This memoir of a serious health condition comes from an observant and witty raconteur, despite the distress he suffers from his diagnosis and treatment. Leslie, who constantly asks questions and does not accept pat responses, makes clear his debt to the NHS. This despite the occasional inefficiencies he points out. Between the jokes and the medical memoir there were good suggestions about ways the administration of the NHS might be improved; how to reduce the number of late diagnoses. Best of all is his take on how to read the reviews of hospitals and cancer services because nowadays we have more choice than heretofore; and more than most people realise. And he has ideas on how the NHS might persuade more patients ...

Caution! Hot Mess Ahead (Work in Progress Book 2) by Jackie Paxson 4.8 Stars (13 Reviews)    Price verified 21 minutes ago

My life is a hot mess. I love sex. I'm not shy about it. Honestly, it's the only kind of relationship I've had with men. That was until I slept with my boss. Now, I have no job, no car, and an aunt with a drinking problem living with me. My life was in the shitter. Well, my friends had a proposition. Stop having sex with random guys, have a genuine friendship with one while going on platonic dates, and they will dress up with me for Comic Universal. Everything until the dressing up part made me cringe. But what did I have to lose? My life came with caution cones and police tape. While I found the perfect man to be friends with, I didn't count on what those friend dates would do to me. His sweet smile and kind eyes made me rethink my position on relationships. Could I really let a man into my life further than my panties? Could I risk my heart when my life was a wreck? Could I do all this while resisting climbing the man like a monkey? I was a big girl. I could handle the challenge, even if that meant wearing a chastity belt around him. Between my crazy aunt, her menagerie, his bananas granny, an evil child at daycare, and a father in a hippie cult, I could do anything. My life was about to get a lot messier.

Heart and Soul: Recon and Rangers, book 2 by Allen Ballantine 5.0 Stars (2 Reviews)    Price verified 21 minutes ago

The elven nation of Gallnor has survived the initial invasion on two fronts by their neighbors, Krazzar and Efristan, thanks mainly to the efforts of two elite groups. Recon and Rangers, two elite groups, one human and the other elves have worked together to stop the onslaught. Now, Major Maxwell Lowe, commander of recon team nine is heading back to the Isles to explain his actions in rescuing ranger scout Allynna Raynore. After fighting overwhelming odds on the battlefield, Max and Allynna will find that they have other battles to fight. President Bailey wants to know what happened, and why Max attacked an orcish squad inside their country and exactly what he was doing in Gallnor. Aside from answering to the president, there's going to be inquiries from both the military, and political opponents of the president into whether Max should be charged and prosecuted. For Allynna, she has to brace herself for life in the human island nation and reaction from its people to their marriage, most notably, Max's family. When the tide of war turns to Gallnor's favor, President Bailey offers to mediate an agreement to end the war, and asks Max and Allynna to deliver his proposal to the elves. A proposal that also includes opening peaceful relations between their countries and a mutual defense pact. With a possible peace between humans and elves, Max and Allynna's marriage becomes a symbol that the two races can get along together. But there are those in all countries that oppose this peace and are willing to stop it, and its symbol. The war may be over, but Max and Allynna will discover that the battles to preserve peace can be just as deadly as the battles of war. And to survive, they'll need more than the naxas, the linking of their minds and bodies, but also the naxas of heart and soul.

Previous novels in the Evan Wycliff series have won 9 book awards, including Mystery Gold and Silver in the New York City Big Book Awards in the same year. PRAISE FOR THIS BOOK Like its predecessors, Preacher Stalls the Second Coming blends unusually humane and thoughtful procedural sleuthing with a brisk pace, winning local color, and ace scenecraft and surprises, all powered by a strong undercurrent of moral and spiritual inquiry. BookLife Reviews PRAISE FOR THE EVAN WYCLIFF MYSTERIES This is literature masquerading as a mystery. Carefully yet powerfully, Gerald Jones creates a small, stunning world in a tiny midwestern town, infusing each character with not just life but wit, charm, and occasionally menace. This is the kind of writing one expects from John Irving or Jane Smiley. Marvin J. Wolf, author of the Rabbi Ben Mysteries, including A Scribe Dies in Brooklyn. Jones manages to infuse a deceptively simple story with suspense, angst, and whimsy, as well as surprise. His command of setting, history, and behavior is beyond exceptional. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Paula Berinstein, author of the Amanda Lester Detective series and host of "The Writing Show" podcast. Great Is THY Faithfulness (Life in Christ) by Joan Boney 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 21 minutes ago

On November 1, 2017, on our blog, I wrote the following words: "It helps a lot to remember our God created heaven and earth. How hard can any of our needs be for HIM to provide?" At that time, I had been reviewing the ways God had led me in operating a small business and later how HE led me in running a ministry. HIS ways were so different from the ways of HUMANS. In 1981, a friend of mine, a vice-president at Braniff International airlines said to me, "Joan, I've never seen anyone run a corporation like you do. Every place I've been, we were taught never use your own money. Borrow money and use other people's money to make money." About 3 months after she said this to me Braniff closed their doors at midnight and grounded all planes and went completely out of business. She and everyone else lost their jobs. ***** I've seen ministers try to go out into all the world and preach the gospel, begging people to give money to pay for their works. God showed me to go in a completely different way, first in business and later in ministry. As a result of going this way, we have no debt, we have no fleshly striving, we go all over the world each day sharing the word of God but in ways we never before imagined. Along the way our little church group has diminished in size. Offerings have become less also but we have no lack in any way and even have an abundance, above our needs. It doesn't seem possible that this could be the case but it is much like God sending Elijah to be sustained by a widow woman who was getting ready to die. Instead, the cruse of oil and the barrel of meal did not fail and through those things caused by God they continued. I Kings 17:14-16 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And ...

Over 50 and Fabulous : The Second Adulthood Thriving Guide by Tania Klein 5.0 Stars (5 Reviews)    Price verified 21 minutes ago

You are fifty. Now what? As women approach their fiftieth birthday, they often experience hot flashes, mood swings, and an array of emotions, ranging from frustration, anxiety, desperation, hopelessness, blissful ignorance, and a false sense of bravery. Rarely, if ever, do women say that the day they turned fifty was the best day of their lives. But what if we were to turn this narrative around and start viewing turning fifty (sixty, seventy, or any age, for that matter) as the time in our lives when we finally get to be our true selves and do things that are truly important to us? When, instead of trying to conform to society's outdated standards, we can proudly embrace our uniqueness. A time when expectations and polite social behavior don't make you feel boxed in or that you need to "act your age," but rather, cause you to see yourself as an immensely advanced person capable of doing whatever you set your mind on. This is the time to rewrite the History of Aging and reconsider what is possible in your Second Adulthood. Not only for the rare kind of women that lead the movement but for all of us. In her book, founder and CEO of Rejuvenation Station and creator of Phace Gym, Tania Yanis Klein, makes a compelling case for rethinking your current age, modifying your daily routine, adding restorative face and neck exercises, and why she thinks these actions will change your life. "There is so much we can do to look our best without turning to plastic surgery or dressing like our daughters. And looking older than you are might be a sign that you don't take good care of yourself and your body."- Dr. Heike Franz, Coach for women 50+

UK language. It's Christmas Eve, five passengers, a mysterious ticket inspector, a train that has only one carriage, a journey with only one stop: the last. Unspeakable secrets, fears and loves, who will be who? A white landscape, completely covered with snow, the smell of humidity and mould and impenetrable memories, which will appear little by little, accompanying you to the end of the journey, finding out where everyone is going, what their stories are and who is the good guy and who's the bad guy. And you! Have you well behaved this year? WARNING: dirty realism, transgressive fiction, gothic pulp and gore, crude story. If you are one of those who doesn't see reality and prefers to turn away, don't read it. Blood, violence, explicit content, not suitable for everyone. The novel is a supernatural drama, where suspense and mystery mix (dirty realism and transgressive fiction, bordering on gore in some parts of the book). This genre is quite explicit and harsh, not suitable for all audiences, there are many fragments that may offend, irritate or hurt the reader. It may seem very cruel, but it is not intended at any time to denigrate or disturb anyone's sensitivity. There are things that can hurt and shock, but no more than any macabre, disturbing or crude story that can happen in real life, this book simply describes all of this without any taboos.

Upon reaching the age of 19, each inhabitant has his future defined as dictated by gender, lineage and, above all, the interests of the system. It is then that Professor Richard Exposito invites Ariadne to his office for a meeting, which will change her life forever. Will Ariadne be able to decide her own destiny? Fracked, Part One: The Hunter by Maureen Driscoll 4.4 Stars (6 Reviews)    Price verified 40 minutes ago

Author's Note: FRACKED was originally published on Kindle's Vella platform for serialized storytelling. This novel contains episodes one through thirty of the FRACKED Vella saga. It is a serialized novel and each of the first three books ends on a cliffhanger -- similar to seasons of a TV show -- until the story concludes in the fourth and final book. If you don't like cliffhangers, you will not like these books. Fracking has opened up a portal to hell in the California desert in this dramedy saga of good versus evil. And while there are actual demons wreaking havoc on the nearby area, there are also demons of a metaphorical kind. Racism, the war in Vietnam, homophobia and the economics of growing older but poorer are all featured in this series by a former writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live. In this first installment, 52-year-old Stephanie Matthews inherits a house in an over-55 community in the California desert, after the sudden death of her aunt. As demons emerge from a nearby fracking site, Stephanie teams up with two former Black Panthers, a Vietnam Vet and a retired teacher to stop them. Allies and enemies are unveiled as the demons begin their quest to destroy humanity. But as events from the past come back to haunt Stephanie's friends, it becomes clear that sometimes the demons which are hardest to kill are the ones in all of us. FRACKED is a comedy/drama which touches on the battle of good versus evil and the many shades of grey in-between.
