The Gentle Tide: A Matt Ransom Mystery by Bobby Underwood 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 10 hours ago

The Gentle Tide is a pivotal moment in this most unique series. While its riveting mix of sensuality, mystery and dystopia pulled readers into this world in enthralling fashion, The Gentle Tide began widening in scope the mythology of the series. Matt has regained the part of himself lost after Rio, but then he sees a ghost from Paris in the rain. He begins searching for answers as to how a woman who died in a way which haunts his dreams could actually be alive. What Matt and his new friends uncover is a perversion so twisted, that even the dead are not safe. For someone Matt loves very much -- perhaps too much -- these crimes will hit heartbreakingly close to home. Returning to Paris where it all began, Matt finally -- at LeAnn's insistence -- begins to deal with the revelation of The Velvet Sea while he follows the trail of clues left to him by the dead woman. Matt observes firsthand the effects of abuse and perversion before this entry reaches a tense climax as thrilling as it is poignant. The series which breathed new life into a sub-genre of sci-fi, and proved that sensuality could be blended with mystery and soap opera, became the most unique in sci-fi with the publishing of The Gentle Tide. Rather than overwhelm readers with technical gobbledygook, this series became a deeply personal family saga exploring love and loss, and what it truly means to have a soul. Tackling taboo subjects within an exciting and often complex mystery, The Gentle Tide is an essential read for all those who want to understand this world, while also being entertained with a rollicking good tale.

Djara: Book One by Kat Evans 4.9 Stars (17 Reviews)    Price verified 10 hours ago

It was a period in time known as the westward expansion, a time when people from all over the country moved west in search of silver and gold. The population influx created a shift, and the untouched frontier became inhabited by corrupt men consumed with greed and spurred by desperation. In mining towns overtaken by outlaws, the primary capital was crime. The law of the land was there was no law in the land. Orphaned as a child, rescued by magical Indians, and raised by a grizzly-bearded mountain man, Djara grew up to be the deadliest woman west of the Mississippi. With a steely determination as immovable as the white-capped Rockies, the gun-slinging bounty hunter fears only one person: a raven-haired beauty named Eden McAllister. When the trail of the ruthless Kody Lawless leads Djara back to Silverton, neither her resolve nor her Colt revolver is a match for a love as wild as the West. This novelette of approximately 15,000 words is the first book of the DJARA series.

Life for twenty-seven-year-old Hershel Lawson has been relatively uneventful and that's the way he likes it. When his grandmother passes away, leaving him her car and a last wish of him taking her ashes to L.A., his life takes a turn and it will never be the same again. With his new task and grandmother's ashes, Hershel sets out from St. Louis Missouri in the spring of 1962. He travels unimpeded along scenic Route 66 for two days, but is suddenly and unexpectedly relieved of two important things, his car and wallet. Sally is a sassy and street smart young woman on her way to Hollywood. She's determined to prove everyone wrong in the "one horse town" she left and make it as an actress in California. Through mishaps of her own, Sally comes across Hershel. Though neither one realizes it, the real journey is about to begin. Take a seat and journey with Hershel and Sally along historic Route 66 during its heyday. Laugh and maybe shed a tear or two as they struggle against the odds, and often each other, to make it a few more miles down the highway.
