Using clues stashed with him in this blanket when he was left at the foundling home as a newborn baby, Timothy James, just turned 13, undertakes a perilous search across rough and tumble 1880 Kansas to find his father. Almost before he has begun, he has to survive a ferocious storm in a small boat on the raging Missouri River. Paul Yancey is not what you'd call a professional anything. After leaving Belle Clare Plantation, he'd drifted from city to city, from job to job, without ever really finding himself or his niche in life.
Until the fateful hunting trip on which he'd accompanied his brother Matthew, a former Texas Ranger. Their time together out in the Texas hill country was supposed to be relaxing and rejuvenating. Instead, they'd happened across Arliss Helms, cattle thief and stagecoach robber. Later, Paul writes the story of their meeting and apprehension and sells it to a newspaper chain. From there, he's off and running in his new career. A respectable one, no less.
Other outlaws and gunslingers cross his path; other stories follow.
Now comes one that will be the biggest to hit print. If he can secure it.
Catamount Clemens is holed up in some hideaway near Mount Whitney. Not only must Paul track him down, but he must do it before other forces interfere.

Really looking forward to reading the next Jack Hamma adventure.'
Swann in Love, a book within a book contained within the first volume, Swann's Way, of Marcel Proust's seven-volume In Search of Lost Time, is an excellent entry point into Proust's work and a compelling standalone novel. In its pages, the portrait of a stormy love affair between the courtesan Odette de Crécy and upper-class socialite Charles Swann gives way to profound meditations on love and jealousy.
The translation is by Matthew Rochon and was published in 2017.

Pure texture, short and sweet. With a name like Morris Ventimiglia the founding member of the Street Mystiques had to be tough. You've found a fast, touching and candid novella about New York street life in the 50's and 60's, a nostalgic, lightweight take on a heavyweight crew. But there's no plot. The Street Mystiques could be considered a legendary Brooklyn-based gang though their influence ranged as far as the shuffleboard courts on the big island of Hawaii in later years. This is the story of their origins and how, by their own admissions and self-promotions, they became notorious for their escapades, starting with a ferocious battle in the kindergarten class where they met. Discover why people named Augie are always short. And see what Chambrey does when her brother tries to pimp her out but neglects to tell her. You'll even find out if people really live on Staten Island. For the most part you can leave the brass knuckles and baseball bats at the title page. It would be best if ...
There's no point in trying to summarize this because it'll just sound incredibly boring. My friends and I each tried keeping a journal for our final weeks of high school and put this together. When I came up with this idea, I didn't really know how this would all turn out. But after looking through it all, I would say this does a nice job at capturing the humor of everyday life.
"That's what you wrote, Chris? That's the worst thing I've ever seen." says Doug. "'Capturing the humor of everyday life?' Where did that come from?"
"It sounds nice," I explain.
"It's so pretentious."
"Yeah who would pick up the book after reading that?" wonders Bruce.
"Well what do you want me to say?" I ask.
"Anything but that," says Doug.
"Why don't you just ask them to give this book a shot?" suggests Troy. "It's as simple as that."
