Love on the Lam: A Comedy Caper by Marc J. Reilly (The Thieves Press) 3.6 Stars (7 Reviews)    Price verified 3 hours ago

A comedy caper for romantics. The new Bonnie and Clyde? Hardly. These knuckleheads are terrible thieves, and their first meeting is definitely not love at first sight -- which is understandable, given they're both trying to rob the same bank with no clue how to go about it. When the heist goes sour, they reluctantly form a dubious partnership where neither is who they claim to be and set off on a zany cross-country crime spree. With the entire country rooting them on and the law closing in, only one thing can save them from themselves -- true love. If you need an attitude adjustment, this book will do the trick. Adventure, action, comedy, and plenty of fun. From the author of the popular Tinman Series, Love on the Lam is sure to put a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

Angry gods Chapter Fourteen (Dr. Tex Arcana Book 14) by Scott F Neve 2.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 8 hours ago

Red Sea, Saudi Arabia "Don't touch that thing!" Tex yelled at the two bikini clad scientists. But it was too late. The secret trigger to the ancient trap clicked into place. The salt water began to rush into the sea cave like a focused tsunami. The man-made tunnel was soon flooded beyond sight of the entrance at the shoreline. The frantic threesome raced before the watery onslaught to the last of the subterranean caverns. "It wasn't my fault," Holly Hannah Lacey protested through tears of fear. The other lady scientist named Colt Smith-Wesson laughed before the cowgirl said, "It was too your fault. Your big butt knocked up that fertility figure." "You pushed me," the first girl said as she wiped off her wet cheeks. Colt giggled and said, "I was only trying to get closer to Tex." He hit the back wall of the last cave and then he spun around. The surging waters roared into the cave and then they subsided slowly. It was readily apparent that they would never be able to escape from the one and only route into the tomb. The two girls fell into his arms and clutched his torso as if he were a super hero. Yet he felt impotent and weak. "Well, we certainly are closer than we have ever been before," he said with his usual flare. "I only wish that it wasn't in this place at this time." Tex and the boisterous girls in bikinis were trapped in a grave. The tomb was filled with many vessels and pots surrounding an altar with a ceremonial knife and three bowls.

Dogged and Flogged Chapter Nineteen (Dr. Tex Arcana Book 19) by Scott F Neve Price verified 11 hours ago

Nineveh, Iraq Tex Arcana had become a nightmare creature. He remembered becoming drowsy while reading the book of Revelation. And then everything went silent as the grave and black as death. His soul died for an instant of time. Now he saw the world of the past from a sea monster's eye view. He was a blue dragon with a serpentine body ten leagues long. His deep hunger could only be satisfied with vengeance. He stared down his prey and opened his mile-wide maw. He choked down the city of gold and its wicked inhabitants. Death and destruction came to all as if frozen in time. Then the serpent slowly evaporated. It returned to the earth as it became mud and clay. The gods of ancient Assyria watched from the nearby mountains. They feared the wrath of the one true God more than anything. The male and the female sphinx and the gryphon took their revenge. The terrible trio tore asunder the olive tree that grew beside the river of life-giving water. But they could not kill it or destroy it. Ages flashed by in the wink of an eye. The tree always grew back bigger and better. The Babylonian gods with dual shapes hid in the deep recesses of the earth. The gryphon had an eagle's head, body and wings; plus he had a lion's claws and tail. The gynosphinx was a giant eagle's body, a lion's claws and tail with a woman's head and bust. Likewise, the androsphinx had a lion's body, an eagle's wings with a man's head and chest. Their worshippers dwindled until they were almost extinct. Their temples fell into ruin never to be built again. The ageless gods waited knowing that their seeds of discord must produce a harvest. Honey Arcana drew her husband's spirit back to the reality of today as she said, "The interpretation of the vision is this. The blue dragon is the Tigris River. The city was Nineveh in Iraq. Its treasures are in the river's floor."

Operation Firedog (Yeoman Series Book 9) by Robert Jackson (Lume Books) 4.2 Stars (489 Reviews)    Price verified 3 hours ago

The Second World War is over, but not for everyone... Veteran Wing Commander George Yeoman is still flying Spitfires. Yeoman and his men are working with the Malayan government to fight the Malayan Communist Party. It is a brutal guerrilla war, right in the heart of the jungle. After a carefully calculated sequence of bloody murders -- British policemen and planters, their wives and children -- the government of Malaya can no longer avoid open conflict with the Malayan Communist Party, whose strength lies in its guerrilla regiments operating from deep within the jungle. A state of emergency is declared and British reinforcements are flown in overnight. War veteran Wing Commander George Yeoman is one of those hardened fighter pilots posted to Kota Balang to command a tactical air support wing of Beaufighters and Spitfires. Their task is to draw the guerrillas out of their impenetrable cover and eradicate them before the whole country is subject to their ruthless terrorism. Operating in tandem with the highly trained Ferret Force, an army unit skilled in jungle warfare, the RAF have little time to acclimatize themselves before the first Communist offensive takes place in their zone. In their own terrain the guerrillas are unbeatable, and those who fall into their hands can expect no mercy. Yeoman and his team quickly discover that their action is every bit as dangerous -- and important -- as any of the great battles of the Second World War. For the man with the sword, the man known only as Yoke, the war isn't over either and he will make the British pay for what they've done, to him and to his country. Praise for Robert Jackson: 'The descriptions of weaponry... are authentically detailed.' - Publishers Weekly 'Takes you to the heart of the action.' - Tom Kasey, best-selling author of Cold Kill. Saturnastra Woden by Teresita Blanco 5.0 Stars (1 Review)    Price verified 6 hours ago

PrefaceWoden is the 11th book in the Saturnastra Series. Can you believe I already completed 11 novels? I still have three other books remaining in the series. Still, I feel quite happy that I am already in the final hurdle of this project. When I get an idea in my head, I follow through it. Most people lack the follow-through to become writers. They get bored or out of ideas by page 11. I am always full of cookie ideas. When the thoughts do not come to me, I dream them up. I have always had a fertile imagination. This is needed to write what I consider a fantasy book. When I started this, I chose a theme and then went with it. Though, in the long scheme of things, all the books of these series do not fall under a specific genre. The only thing they have in common are the familial ties, and the world that the characters inhabit. Woden already made a couple of cameos in other books of mines. This will be her stand alone story. It will take place over the course of a couple of days. Sometimes the most important events in people's life take place in a short amount of time. I think this book might actually be what people consider fantasy. The main girl is a magic type of person, and I do feature a decent amount of spells here and there. Then again, how this book ends up getting categorized is all up to the store that is selling my books. I have a particular way of looking at the world, and this viewpoint is reflected somewhat in this book. If you are already up to book 11th in this series, you already know to expect the unexpected. IntroductionI originally said in my first book that you did not need to read the entire series in order. This remains true for this book as well. Woden is its own stand alone novel. What it has in common with the other books is the setting. It takes place in the world that her family calls Saturnastra. The local lifeforms call it something else, as it is to be expected. The book focuses on the first couple of days of Woden away from her ...
