The Far Second of Eternity: Nemo Dade Chronicles - Book One (The Nemo Dade Chronicles 1) by Keana Doyle 4.2 Stars (19 Reviews)    Price verified one minute ago

I'd been doing fine on my own for the last flibbertyfloppin' thirty-ish years. Okay, maybe fine was a smidgen of an exaggeration, but I was hiding, goshdangdiddlygorse. Mercenary and operative work wasn't for me anymore, and as far as the Divine Triad was concerned, they could get someone else to be their Watchdog for all the Supernaturals in the world. I'd been doing it for at least a millenia and a half. This most recent half had nearly broken my brain, and definitely busted my heart. So that was it. This Nephilim was deuceddingleberrieddoggone done. Or so I'd thought. Half-Human and half-Celestial, Nemo Dade gets reborn into new personas: same soul, same body (mostly), new problems. Her last persona worked as an agent for MI-6. She'd buried a lot of friends and colleagues, so no more. Then an international team of operatives captures Nemo. They leverage her past, forcing her to help them stop an arms dealer who's broken into human trafficking. This criminal has someone more than human on the payroll, which means they need her to even the odds. Everything in her screams for Nemo to walk away. It isn't her fight. That had been the plan until a love she'd thought dead demands for her to do what she'd been doing for centuries-her job. Why does doing the right thing have to be such a hard choice?

The Waiter's Game (Tom Lancaster Book 2) by M E Golesworthy 3.7 Stars (7 Reviews)    Price verified one minute ago

Marseille, March 1941 Four years have passed since Tom Lancaster returned to Europe and he is now living a double life as Alphonse Prideux, an unremarkable church maintenance man, in the unoccupied zone of France. Together with Emilie, his married girlfriend, and her sister, he forms part of a local resistance network that prints anti-fascist newspapers and helps some of the thousands of refugees that have flooded Marseille since the invasion. One night, at a night-club where Emilie is singing, he is approached by a man from the French secret service and blackmailed into killing a German agent. To give his network a chance to disappear, he agrees, but events take a strange turn, and before long, he is forced to flee the country together with a woman he doesn't know. Meanwhile, in Paris, Emilie, a famous singer, puts her faith in her abusive husband and manager, Gerard. Reluctantly she spends her time entertaining the occupying Germans, both for her career and for the chance to get some useful information. With most of her friends having left Paris as the Germans came marching in, she feels alone and vulnerable and longs for the days when she sang in smaller clubs, to people that mattered to her. With a Paris unaware of where her loyalties lie, she becomes a target for citizens believing her to be a collaborator. Her husband sees the Nazis as a great business opportunity, and in the end, will he be the one who betrays her? What none of them realise, is that they are all playing their parts in a game. A game controlled by the Germans, a game that could win the war and lose them their lives.

American History: History of the United States: From Indians to Modern History of America. People, Places and Events that Shaped US History by Andrew White 3.5 Stars (25 Reviews)    Price verified one minute ago

READ FOR FREE WITH KINDLE UNLIMITED American History - History of the United States: From Indians to Modern History of America. People, Places and Events that Shaped US History How did America become the superpower that it is today? If you ever wondered this, then this book is for you. It presents the main events that shaped the American culture: how it developed from a group of colonists into the most prominent nation in the world. How did everything start? Who were the invaded and the invaders? This book will reveal each step that "constructed" America, aiming at addressing the most common questions concerning the difficulties of this "free land." The tone of this book is straightforward as the succession of points is presented clearly. Everything began with Columbus' remarkable first journey to America. Numerous battles and wars followed the founding of the Plymouth Colony. In spite of that, this didn't stop the newcomers from fighting for a land that was already inhabited. With every battle, the Indians become more of a minority, which somehow reduced the number of military conflicts. Still, only after the American Revolution did they manage to break away from their motherland's control. This way, they became the independent state that it is today. Soon afterward, the Civil War broke on the grounds of slavery, which was followed by the Two World Wars and the Cold War. In short, this book takes you on a discovery journey that begins with Columbus' first visit to America. It features an insightful, comprehensive analysis of the most significant events in America's tumultuous history and the effects they had on this country's development. On a quest to find something that won't reveal itself to her, she feels as if she's pining for someone who may not exist, so when an evil presence begins to follow her, she isn't sure if her mind is slowly falling apart, or if the impossible is actually coming true. When an instant attraction sparks between her and the dangerously sexy police officer sent to help her, it makes matters worse and better at the same time. It's a race against time to find the angel/human hybrid One True Mates that the pack's spiritual leaders say truly exist. Saving the shifter clans is on everyone's mind, except for the chosen, the One True Mates, most of whom don't even know who or what they really are, or why they seem to be slowly losing their minds. You've NEVER read a shifter romance, or a fated mates romance like this before. This is a republication of One True Mate 1, after a rights reversion back to Lisa Ladew.

CONCUSSION MAGICK (The Furai Compilation Book 1) by RICHARD SKEET 3.5 Stars (2 Reviews)    Price verified 8 hours ago

At 12-years-old, I became a dark wizard--following the left-hand path. As Robert Frost wrote, "Two roads diverged in a wood and I--I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." It wasn't an easy decision--I fought it. Most normal people like to think of themselves as 'good'--even the shitty ones. Few have the balls to declare, 'I am evil.' I embraced who I was--what I was--why I was, and where I was going. I remember my sifu's promise to me, "If your destiny is to become a dark wizard, I'll make sure you become the darkest wizard ever." The sifu who spoke these words to me was my father--he died over six years ago. Effectively, I signed his death warrant with my decision to become dark, and who I chose to call 'master.' I embraced my darkness, are you ready to do the same? CONCUSSION: a thought form, expelled violently, which bends the universe. (Primitives call this a spell.) Magick, black and white, is real. Wizards--who've learned a few simple things enabling them to bend reality--are real. Chi--emotional energy wizards release--is real. CONCUSSION MAGICK: cutting-edge; cross-genre; non-genre. Purpose: benefit man, period. Readers gain advantage, a dominant edge over any opponent, forever. A simple, complete system of weaponized magick. Magick--the most powerful weapon man has. Learning magick: the only chance we have to fight the enemies of man. Designed to forge warrior wizards--men who can't be dominated, defeated, or enslaved by any enemy--FURAI.

DEBUNKING HOLOCAUST DENIAL THEORIES: Two Non-Jews Affirm the Historicity of the Nazi Genocide by James Morcan (Sterling Gate Books) 4.0 Stars (86 Reviews)    Price verified 8 hours ago

DEBUNKING HOLOCAUST DENIAL THEORIES: Two Non-Jews Affirm the Historicity of the Nazi Genocide, by independent researchers and filmmakers James Morcan & Lance Morcan with a foreword by Holocaust survivor Hetty E. Verolme (author of The Children's House of Belsen), aims to end the denial once and for all by tackling the bizarre phenomenon head-on. Written in close consultation with Holocaust survivors and World War Two historians, no stone is left unturned in meticulously verifying the historical facts of the genocide. The Morcans present a wide array of sources including Nazi documentation, eyewitness accounts, scientific reports and shocking photographic evidence to shut down the debate deniers wish to create. One by one, the various arguments Holocaust deniers use to try to discredit wartime records are carefully scrutinized and then systematically disproven. Theories debunked include: the six million death toll figure being an exaggeration; gas chamber exterminations being fictitious; Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich being wrongly vilified; the analysis of Holocaust records being a taboo due to specific laws in Europe criminalizing deniers; "Evil Zionists" and Israel being so powerful that they can censor history. The Holocaust is shown in this book's pages to be one of the most well-documented and most historically and forensically-proven crimes of the 20th Century. In the process, many of the world's most infamous deniers, including disgraced British historian David Irving and the former President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, are revealed to be nothing but anti-Semites seeking to further denigrate, undermine and demoralize the world's Jewish population. In this enlightening read that covers more than two millennia of global history, anti-Semitism is shown not only to be the root cause of every form of Holocaust denial, but also the reason for the relentless persecution of the Jews since Biblical times. The authors quote verbatim the often sickening ...

Ella's Journey by June Harwood-Brown 4.5 Stars (236 Reviews)    Price verified 8 hours ago

Ella Warrington, a lively, fiery-spirited ten year-old cockney girl who lives in Lambeth in the East end of London is left orphaned when her mother, Esther, dies shortly after the end of World War Two, having lost a bravely fought battle with cancer. The only person Ella believes she has left in the world is her beloved neighbour, Eric Donnelly, a school teacher who has been like a father to her since she was two years old. Eric Donnelly believes that he will automatically become Ella's guardian. However, two strangers attend her mother's funeral; the dour Harriet Rudge, who claims to be her Mother's cousin, and her corpulent husband Ronald Rudge. With a letter from the court confirming their legal guardianship of Ella, and despite her pleading to stay with her neighbour, they take her away from everything she knows and holds dear to live with them in their sprawling house, Yew Tree Manor, on the Romney Marsh in Kent, leaving Eric Donnelly feeling bereft and anguished over Ella's heartbreaking departure. It is immediately apparent that the Rudges are despicable characters and their intentions truly reprehensible when, having put Ella in the neglected attic room, originally the servants' quarters, damp and freezing in the Arctic conditions of the harshest winter in over a century, she quickly becomes subjected to their 'disciplines'. Facing extreme adversity and battling all the odds, Ella embarks on a treacherous journey to return to her home and her beloved Mr Donnelly.

Quanology: Evolution & You by John Khoury 4.2 Stars (9 Reviews)    Price verified 8 hours ago

See the world around you in a whole new way with John Khoury's thought-provoking new book, Quanology. A unified theory of human living, the concept of Quanology represents the next evolutionary step in achieving what humans would consider "the good life." And while it's currently popular to view nature and technology as two fundamentally opposed concepts, Quanology approaches each as complementary to the other. So what does this mean for you and your life? It means that applying the principles of Quanology to your life can dramatically increase your sense of purpose, well-being, and fulfillment. Based on the idea of evolution and natural selection, which Khoury proves still rules over us today, Quanology emphasizes the idea that nature is not a force separate from us. Humans are nature, so when we choose to study and embrace it, we are actually studying and embracing our own selves. This key insight is the starting point from which we can learn to live better, more realized lives. Khoury manages to take a technical, sometimes heavy subject and present it in a light and approachable manner that will leave readers with a renewed sense of purpose as they tackle life's challenges.

Rom is lost, worthless, a stray... A demon in human form, lost in a world where money and power are everything. The needs of his new body are alien but he still needs to feed like a demon. Taking the energies of careless humans, Rom barely scrapes by -- "donating" blood to a psychopathic vampire for money, donating his body if he has to... Life is rough for a stray who can no longer return home. Then he meets a shifter at a dirty bar and everything changes. Well, maybe not everything. Rom is used to using his body as payment yet this shifter feels different. Vicious, frightening, and dominant, Dmitri is used to getting his way. Taking advantage of Rom is easy but when the fool keeps showing up unexpectedly, Dmitri finds himself intrigued by something he can't quite name. Rom knows his secret demon nature would be taboo. What if Dmitri had a secret of his own? Rom meets another shifter like Dmitri but Spero is no brute. Can he prove to Rom that everyone -- even a demon in human form -- deserves comfort and companionship? That no one deserves to be used and tossed aside? Can Dmitri accept the intrusion into his affairs? Will Spero be caught up as well? Set in the same universe as House(less)bound, Stray Demon is an X-rated romp set several years prior. You do not need to have read House(less)bound to read Stray Demon. If you do, you might recognize a familiar name... Contains: explicit mm sex scenes, bullying, demons, portals, Rom can't be hurt unless he allows it, explicit mm sex, being hunted by bad shifters, vampires, loss, rough stuff, flip-flopping, first kisses, secrets... did I mention EXPLICIT sex? Bigfoot & Santa Vs The Donald (Bigfoot And Santa Book 3) by Raven Blackbird 4.5 Stars (2 Reviews)    Price verified 8 hours ago

It's 2016 in America, which means it's election time! Santa Claus has always been kind of racist, so naturally he gravitates toward the Donald, the mentally deranged, bigoted Republican candidate supported by the KKK and Neo-Nazis. Bigfoot, on the other hand, has always been a bleeding heart liberal, so he of course supports Hill-Dawg, the shady, calculating Democratic nominee who also happens to be the wife of the beloved former president, Slick Willy. When The Donald announces one of his infamous race-baiting campaign rallies in New York City, Santa wants to go to support his beloved bigot. Bigfoot wants to go, too, but only so he can protest. Bigfoot unsurprisingly is beaten up by the Donald's supporters and subsequently arrested. Santa is arrested too, since he is actually an illegal immigrant from the North Pole. This causes Santa to second-guess his support of such a narrow-minded candidate. Bigfoot and Santa are surprised when Hill-Dawg, Slick Willy, and President Nobama bail them out of prison. But they're not just doing it out of the goodness of their calculating hearts. Hill-Dawg wants Bigfoot and Santa, along with their bffs the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, to help them invade The Donald's impregnable fortress, affectionately known as Rump Tower. It turns out the The Donald is actually a supervillain hell-bent on ruling not only America, but the entire world. And with Hill-Dawg's approval ratings at an all-time low, there is a somewhat decent chance of the Donald actually becoming elected President of the United States. So if there is any hope of stopping the Donald from becoming dictator of Planet Earth, he has to be stopped now. Will Bigfoot, Santa, Hill-Dawg, and Slick Willy succeed in thwarting the Donald's nefarious plot of unleashing a global race war? Or will The Donald succeed in unleashing a wave of bigotry and hysteria across the entire planet? Read this satirical political thriller to find out!!!

Someone in this school knows. They know the things that can ruin me. I have to stop them before it's too late. But this time, my sisters aren't here to have my back. Black-Eyed Nick: An Historical Murder Mystery (Agatha Aston Book 1) by Jack Murray 4.5 Stars (613 Reviews)    Price verified 10 hours ago

Black-eyed Nick played a trick, and poor old Fred, lost his head It's 1876 and a dead body is found near the mansion of Lady Agatha Aston in Grosvenor Square, London. The newly formed Detective Branch at Scotland Yard is baffled by the series of grisly murders that seem to come straight from the pages of a 'penny dreadful'. Who is the demon stalking the streets of London? Lady Agatha takes matters in hand, ably supported by golf fanatic friend, Betty Stevens, former school hockey captain, 'Sausage' Gossage and Talleyrand, her unlucky-in-love Basset hound. The first Agatha Aston murder mystery is full of laughs, twists and truly abysmal verse. Perfect for fans of Agatha Christie and historical mysteries featuring real life detectives from the period: Jack Whicher, 'Paddington' Pollaky and Dolly Williamson. What reviewers are saying about Jack Murray's Kit Aston series: "... well written with very appealing characters, good plots and just a nice touch of romance. Very little overt violence and no sex." "A delightful return to the 'golden age' mysteries: gallantry displayed, love interest satisfied, red herrings all round... " ''Sly humour contrasted with thoughtful insights... " No graphic violence. No cliff hanger ending. This is a clean read with no swearing or sex.

When Firefly meets X-men... The universe holds no secrets for Captain Allan Roy and his crew of space scavengers. They have traveled to most occupied territories and to the confines of the Rim. In the remnants of an abandoned scientific expedition, they find a teenage girl, Kala, surviving alone. Rescuing orphans isn't on Allan's resume, but the hell with it; it will not take too much of a detour to drop her off on the next civilized planet. So they take her on board their ship, La Capricieuse, not suspecting that it will be the start of their greatest adventure. Kala is a never-seen-before mutant. And thanks to La Capricieuse, she is now free to roam the Milky Way. CAPRICIOUS is the first book in The Lightning Crew Chronicles. It's Dark in Wenlock by Bill Stenlake 4.0 Stars (87 Reviews)    Price verified 10 hours ago

It's Dark in Wenlock. I have been out at night in Wenlock before, of course I have. It is just that I haven't been out that late, walking home in complete darkness. They turn off the street lights overnight. That made the difference, as I walked home last night. I'd got a call for help about 10 o'clock, but by the time everything was sorted it was about 3 o'clock before I was ready to walk home. I walked down the lane by the Pottery and turned onto Sheinton Street. At the Bull Ring I crossed over the road and started walking up past the church. I heard a noise to my left. I can't explain what sort of noise exactly, but it was like a swooshing noise. I stopped and turned. I felt my heartrate go up a few notches. I could just make out the outline of the nearest gravestones. I could also make out the shape of the big tree beyond that. That was about the extent of my view. Then she appeared from the doorway of the church and walked along the path and away from me. She must have been hiding in the doorway as I approached. The whoosh, I took to be her movement. She had a long cloak on, as far as I could make out. Beyond the gravestones, she just blended into the rest of the darkness. I did call out to her, but she didn't slow down and she didn't respond. That was my first encounter with her. Later that morning I saw activity down the town. When I enquired what was going on, I found out that a body had been discovered in a house near to the corner of Sheinton Street. A passer-by had found the front door open and ventured in. What they found was not a pretty sight. I felt I should mention that I had been walking past there in the night. I also feel I should tell about the figure I saw running away from the entrance to the church, less than 50 metres away. I am interviewed by a detective and that is that. But it isn't. About lunchtime I have been in the town again. I am on my way home when a car stops beside me. It is the detective. 'We need to have another talk to ...
