When Tom finishes college, he ditches the job applications and takes to the open road. Every sunset, beach, and taco, is nonchalantly broadcast on social media to friends trapped in tiny flats and smaller cubicles. He's never been so free: so why is he bored out of his brain?
The one place he feels at home is online, in poetry forums filled with people who stare for hours at flowers, or craft sonnets about socks. In other words, weirdos like himself. It's there he meets Zandra, an elderly woman whose illuminating words inspire him to write his own. The two form an unlikely friendship, until the day Zandra stops replying.
Zilch, zip, nada. Ghosted by a grandma.
Tom is betrayed and disappointed, but concern for her wellbeing compels him to action. He's got everything he needs: a tiny home on wheels, a tank of gas, and a lot of spare time. Come hell or high-water -- or flat tire -- Tom is going to find Zandra.
But the online friend he's so desperate to meet, might not be the person he expects. In fact, his sweet, talented mentor might never have existed at all...
