This is the dream.
I am a comet,
and spectral tail ablaze.
In the blackest corner of
a starless sky,
I pace alone.
Through a forgotten orbit
out of desperation
for the familiar,
in loyalty to a rhythm
I cannot comprehend,
a millennium at a time.
You are born, and in that
instant my comet heart hears
the first notes of our song
and sets course for Earth.
By the power of dream
ice is exchanged for bone.
Stardust settles into green eyes.
Still it takes me 27 years
to move this body
into your orbit. But the
homecoming feels familiar,
expected, as if I've only
just left and come back having
important, until I wake
crying, begging. I don't want to
return to the cold dark
of space alone. Explaining
I can't bear to spend another
millennium out there, knowing
you may or may not be born,
knowing orbits can change
and I will have to lose you again --
search for you again.
In our bed, you smile. You
kiss each wet ...
I'm about to jump into the canal and pull her to safety when I stop at the edge of the towpath.
What if I do nothing... ?

Spirituality is oft misunderstood. Many consider it to be incompatible with materialism. Sometimes it's even associated with superstition or credulity. Yet, at some point in time in our life, notwithstanding our materialist outlook, we do ponder on the following questions:
Is destiny preordained?
Does God exist?
Is there an afterlife?
While various religious scriptures profess their theories on these topics, we find it difficult to accept such theories at face value in the absence of scientific reasoning and empirical experience. In reaction, we often limit our lives to the perceptible realm only. However, in the absence of answers to these questions, there remains a void in our life.
Kaanan is a modern professional who carries out an investigation on these topics in his quest for a fulfilling life. He keenly follows developments in science and refuses to take scriptures at face value. He takes a break from a frenetic career and goes on a ...

Kilkenny Docks ( John's Quay ) is definitely a place to avoid, especially after dark. Its reputation is well known among the locals and they tell stories of things that have transpired around those parts, with fear in their eyes.
It still goes on down there to this very day, what with the Taverns and houses of ill-repute. This place has been the ruination of many a man.
Combined, here, are two, ever-popular types of detective stories - Inland Mysteries and Butler Murder Mysteries. Detective Raymond Masters arrives at Windstone Manor - high atop a tiny, remote, snow blown, island off the Maine Coast - to supervise a Scavenger Hunt designed by Elliott Stone, the aging, despicable, Lord of the Manor, to allow one of his heirs to enhance his or her position in his will. The participants include the five butlers who formerly worked for him (most of whom hate each other and Elliott), and his nephew (a self-centered, amoral, 30-year-old who has lived most of his life at Windstone). Then there is Carl, the old man's lawyer; Bea, his nurse and secretary; Angie, the cook and maid; and Hyde, the current young butler. Five bodies later, Masters (once again surviving a strange little policeman sidekick) solves the cases amid the unrelenting, freezing storm that hold the group captive on the rock amid the raging sea. One of 17 novels in the Raymond Masters ...

The War of 1812 is perhaps the United States' least known conflict. Other than Andrew Jackson's 1815 victory at New Orleans and Francis Scott Key's poem "The Star-Spangled Banner" written in 1814 during the British attack on Baltimore, most Americans know little about the country's second major war. This book will give you a full insight into the second largest military conflict that took place on the soil of North America.

Jamie Shepherd had already experienced a hard life and he was not yet twenty years old. At seventeen he had joined Bonnie Prince Charlie's Jacobite Rebellion and had fought for his beloved Scotland. He followed the Prince from Perth to Culloden until he was captured escaping the final battle. One act of kindness meant that he was then imprisoned in London for eighteen months. Now he had been sentenced to twelve years in servitude in a far away land. What did Virginia hold for him and would he survive? Only time would tell. This is the story of Jamie Shepherd, a young man whose life would change forever through one decision.
Here are two Christmas skits that need nearly no rehearsals, or can be rehearsed in great depth, depending on the needs of the cast. They are written for children and/or adults. They can be done with few, many or no props at all. Throughout the play, the cast sings Christmas songs, or may simply sing along with the audience. The director may use a few or all of the songs, depending on the amount of time desired. Only the titles are included in the script, since most (if not all) are found in most hymn books. The lines of the script may be memorized or read during the performance. They are written in such a way so that children who do not read or who do not wish to speak may still participate, including any number of children. The gospel is clearly spelled out, from Jesus' birth, life on earth, death on the cross, burial and resurrection. Merry Christmas from Charlie and Sally Hull!

Rule #1: Hide the monster.
Whispers surround me. Every time I walk down the halls of the academy, I'm terrified they'll discover who I really am. If they do, I'll never make it back to Mount Olympus so I can finally seek revenge on the god who ruined me.
So, note to self:
No flashing my scales, no showing my hair and absolutely no letting my eyes hit direct sunlight.
It won't be easy, especially with three devastatingly handsome shifters who seem intent on destroying me.
A gorgeous griffin, a smoking hot sea dragon and a mysterious giant.
Other girls see them as swoon-worthy jocks, but to me they're just ruthless monsters. Then again, so am I.
I'm Medusa the Gorgon, after all. Cursed by the gods to be the most terrifying woman alive.
It'll be a challenge, but I've been through worse. I'll survive, as long as I don't break rule #2:
Don't fall in love with my enemies.

Charlie Six is a gorgeously realized coming-of-age novel that takes place during the eruption of music, hope and revolution in London during the 1960s. Charlie's a boy ready to bust out of the post-WWII mentality on the tail-end of a Rolling Stones Muddy Waters' riff in his Carnaby Street suit. His mother is a world-class nightlife addict and his father's a gangster, just two amongst the colorful cast of characters raising Charlie. The language of Charlie Six is the art of slang - he's a cheeky Cockney pop art Huck Finn with the gift of the gab. Written by the enigmatic Brixton Key, rumored to have been deeply involved in the English music business from the time he was a lad, Charlie Six is a tantalizing mélange of fictional autobiography and modern memoir. It evokes The Catcher in the Rye meets Howl. Poet, Maxine Chernoff, writes, "Charlie Six is as much at home mixing 'Gin and Italians' as he is listening to the rock music and Beat Poetry that charts his growth. He has the ...

The more time we spent together, the more the ...
