The Universe is a humbling place, at least it always has been for Jack, an elite member of the Galactic Survey Group tasked with blazing a trail for humanity among the stars. He's the best that Earth has to offer but, even with billions of nanobots fortifying his body, death is frequent and inevitable.
Being the best has its perks though. When he dies, Jack's bots restore him to health and "Reboot" his brain to get him back in the action. So on a normal day, Jack wouldn't sweat the four-inch holes that left him bleeding out onto an icy snow drift thirty light years from home, it'd be just another day at the office.
Unfortunately, today is far from normal. Elizabeth, a field researcher and the only woman Jack has ever loved, is on the run from the terrors that laid him low. On her first mission off-world, Elizabeth has yet to earn her bots and must survive on her own. If she is to have a chance, Jack must push through death once again and hope he can find her before the inevitable does.

A surge in savage attacks, random and always at night, stretches police resources to the brink of collapse.
Joe Hawthorne has been a copper for twenty years, so he should have the experience to deduce what's happening. But time is against him, as the brutal, motiveless attacks threaten to shred the very fabric of civilisation before his eyes.
Fighting to save his colleagues and family, Hawthorne must find a way to escape the carnage. With his luck and courage close to breaking point, only a miracle can prevent him and his band of survivors from becoming infected too.
For what he is witnessing must surely be the rise of the undead. If the devastation looks like a zombie apocalypse, and the screams sound like a zombie apocalypse, then what other explanation could there be? Despite the devouring flames, the sickening violence, and the rabid insanity he encounters at every turn, there's just one snag, however.
Joe Hawthorne hasn't seen a single zombie anywhere.

"Not of woman born, the Fortunate, the Unborn" -- the terms designating those born by Caesarean section in medieval and Renaissance Europe were mysterious and ambiguous. Examining representations of Caesarean birth in legend and art and tracing its history in medical writing, Renate Blumenfeld-Kosinski addresses the web of religious, ethical, and cultural questions concerning abdominal delivery in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Not of Woman Born increases our understanding of the history of the medical profession, of medical iconography, and of ideas surrounding "unnatural" childbirth.
Blumenfeld-Kosinski compares texts and visual images in order to trace the evolution of Caesarean birth as it was perceived by the main actors involved -- pregnant women, medical practitioners, and artistic or literary interpreters. Bringing together medical treatises and texts as well as hitherto unexplored primary sources such as manuscript illuminations, she provides a fresh perspective on ...

We have figured out nothing except the way to live:
The way of captives rather than orphans,
The captivity of being rather than the freedom of nothingness.
The way of control without freedom rather than freedom with the risk of disorder,
The structures of society rather than the void of individuality.
The way of what is not rather than what is,
The illusion of happiness and lies rather than the reality of wisdom and despair.
Illusion is the cornerstone of lies,
Lies are the cornerstone of dreams,
Dreams are the cornerstone of joy,
The dreams behind the lies we live by.
This is the poetry of Hippolyte Flandrin.
Why, when the exhilaration of sex has diminished, does the heartache of youth still persist?

Carol came next, teaching him confidence. And then Gina, and with her he had never been more fulfilled. But Gina had also brought heartache. There was chubby Cynthia, and Grace who believed they would marry. There was Paula, already married. Paula only wanted sex. And then there was Jenny, his wife. But Jenny won't have him back. He can't understand why sex and love had brought so much pain, misery and now utter loneliness into his life, and why the fire in his chest has died.

Some are just plain too old to live any longer. Their lust unwittingly fuels the growth of the Cougar Empire. It always has and it always will."

Adults and Young Adults: Ricky was fifteen and wheelchair bound. He had difficulty remembering a moment in his life when he hadn't been terrified. Vague, shadowy, strangers, apparently wanting to do him harm were always just out of reach. His psychiatrist said it was all in his head. His wealthy, distant, though loving adopted father, seemed to be siding with the doctor. Pages from Ricky's diary are interspersed with the story. Danger, excitement, terror and dread provide the canvas on which this portrait of a bright, creative, struggling young man must play out.

Where Do the Crows Go? is a collection of poetry and prose written between 2015 and 2020, delving deep into the universal journey of moving from darkness to light and inspired by the juxtaposition of obsidian crows against starlit skies. This book addresses themes of feminism, mental health, adolescent growing pains, political unrest, personal strength, and disillusionment with the world, beginning to analyze them through a sour, juvenile lens before gradually opting for an optimistic, passionate outlook.
I hope these poems heal you, empower you, and inspire you.
