This book is the finale of the Alphabitch series, that focuses on the Hutton children; Harlequin and Hollister. It may be read as a stand alone book, but due to the mountain of preceding events, I would recommend the previous books to add clarity. The original book chronicles the adventures of Charlie Hutton as she navigates the confining and confounding Victorian age in which she finds herself, where she has been accidentally propelled in a time travel experiment. She returns to her 1980's home in La Jolla California with Conner FitzGerald, who becomes collateral damage as an unwitting companion. The second book, Heart-On continues the tumultuous relationship as he adjusts to the modern world and his hostess, as their love and attraction deepens, in spite of the impossibility of a relationship. They originate in utterly different societies and are as unsuited as two people could be, but the romance persists through centuries, past and future, culminating in the final book that ends ...
